A quite offbeat episode, "The Race", is structured as a "dream sequence". With an experimental brain patterns transfer to both Mac and son Joe to share the same dream about a car race from London to Monte Carlo (a chance for plenty of model action on screen).
A pompous General Tempest of the World Army has threatened to take over intelligence activities from Lolndon's WIN, claiming Army intelligence is superior. He concocts the race scheme and gets Shane Weston of WIN to bet on which group can win the race, necessary for Shane to win for WIN.. Shane and Mac & Joe compete in their hovercraft against the Genera, Major Clooney and Lieutenant Burns, but the Army team cheats. Joe has a brain transfer of expertise from last year's Monte Carlo winner as an advantage.
The race is fun and there's even a bit of real-life first-person mountain roads photography mixed in with the well-done miniature shots. It was only a dream conclusion is foretold but annoying nonetheless.
