This marks the first time that the Ghostbusters' advertising slogan and phone number (NOGHOSTS) is revealed. Horace (who coincidentally was a ghost himself that was unaware of his spectral state) reads both the slogan and number aloud before calling the Ghostbusters.
The voice actors were recorded on September 12 and December 17, 1986. Maurice LaMarche, who covered for Arsenio Hall and voiced Winston, recorded on December 17, 1986.
Jon mistakenly calls the Ghostbusters the "Ghost Smashers" three times in the episode. This was the original name for the group in Dan Aykroyd's first draft of the movie script.
Slimer doesn't appear in this episode.
One of the many episodes to feature a dramatic ending rather than a happy/sad/horror ending.
