If you already have low expectations for Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, you might not be interested in seeing the first film by Norwegian director Tommy Wirkola. It won’t exactly do much for your interest in the new action-infused fairy tale. But if you’re like me and are fascinated by the calling card short films of Hollywood moviemakers, you’ll want to check out Remake. Anyway, it’s under seven minutes, so you’re not wasting too much time. The short was produced in Australia in 2006, and Wirkola shares helming duties on the film with Kit McDee (who has his own action feature with the word “hunters” in it out this year called The Hunters Club Movie). Man, you want to talk about leaking a huge list. Once you see it, you'll realize it's a pretty cool list, considering it's from Paramount Pictures. Well, at least I think it's fairly neat considering what you find on that list. Another cool notes from this list, and one of them is that "Max Steel" is pretty much dead in the water. An upcoming Anne Fletcher film, "My Mother's Curse", has Seth Rogen and Barbara Streisand attached to co-star. That's a really interesting combo, let's see how that one will be. There's still another "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" film that's floating around in development along with "Hasbro Factory", said to be a "Night at a Museum" kind of film but set in a factory. - Up-and-coming Norwegian writer/director Tommy Wirkola (Kill Buljo) takes viewers on a tour of the beautiful snowy mountains of Oksfjord, Norway in his second feature film, Dead Snow. The thing is, Wirkola has also decided that the time is ripe for a revival of a horror subgenre many people thought would never re-surface: the Nazi zombie film (remember Shock Waves, with Peter Cushing and John Carradine?). By the end of this 90-minute splatter comedy, the beautiful white snow of the Norwegian Alps will be painted blood red.
