The names of the 26 victims seen on the memorial and the banner (with the exception of prominent characters such as Maureen and Mr. MacLeod) are the names of members of the production crew who worked on the film.
Although the location in which the film takes place is never identified, the cars have Connecticut license plates.
At the start of the movie, when Uma Thurman's character is flipping through radio stations, one of the songs you hear is "She's Not There" by The Zombies (1964), which was covered under the title "About Her" by Malcolm McLaren. That cover was used in Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2004) which Uma also starred in.
