cute short film!!

I saw this at a film festival in Los Angeles. It is very cute, clever, and heartfelt. Good acting, and directing. I especially liked the little girl who plays "Sarah" the best friend. She is adorable, underplayed and hilarious.

The film is about a boy who has to stay with his Gramma while his parents are out of town. She falls short of his expectations of what a good Grandmother should be--she smokes, doesn't cut his sandwiches properly and isn't very Grandma-like. During the film he types letters to his brother who is away about his discontent. While discussing his problem with his best friend Sarah during Gym class, he comes up with the idea to hold auditions for a new Grandma. When his real Gramma finds out she has been replaced she conspires with Sarah to convince Percival to open up to her. This is a lovely short film about dealing with loss and connecting with your family.
