The first trailer for Marvel’s highly anticipated Captain America sequel, subtitled The Winter Soldier, launched early Thursday after being teased by the studio on Wednesday. Though their latest venture, Thor: The Dark World, hasn’t even hit theaters yet, fans have been eagerly awaiting a glimpse at what Cap’s been up to since the Battle of New York.
We’ve heard reports that The Winter Soldier (which hits theaters on April 4, 2014, the studio’s first Spring release) will draw inspiration from the political thrillers of the 1970′s, and be just as much a S.H.I.E.L.D. story as a story featuring Steve Rogers. Nick Fury and Black Widow will appear alongside Cap, who will face off against a man from his past who begins reaping havoc as the Winter Soldier.
Here are five things we’ve learned from our first glimpse at the film in the new trailer…...

Marvel never fail to bring something awesome with them to Comic-Con, and we expect this year to be no different. Last year, the studio brought Iron Man 3 with them; the year before, it was The Avengers. And this year, we can look forward to seeing Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier out in San Diego over the weekend.
Continuing their trend of releasing free concept art posters at the convention, Marvel have announced that they’ll be giving out free copies of concept art posters for Thor: The Dark World, designed by Charlie Wen, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, designed by Ryan Meinerding. The artwork for Cap 2 is the same piece of concept art that we saw last week, with Wen’s take on Thor giving us a look at our eponymous hero soaring through the sky.

Remember that way cool Ryan Meindering concept art for "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" that Entertainment Weekly unveiled last week? That art is now jumping out of the Jpeg world and into our own as a special limited edition promotional poster available only at Comic-Con International in San Diego. It'll be joined by a companion limited edition poster for "Thor: The Dark World" by artist Charlie Wen.
The "Winter Soldier" concept art shows off Steve Rogers battling with the titular antagonist, all while Falcon (portrayed by Anthony Mackie) swoops in overhead. The "Dark World" poster doesn't depict a scene from the film, that is unless Thor gets a bit of amnesia and suddenly has his memories rush back to him, montage style. The Charlie Wen poster features a who's who of Asgardian and Earthly characters, including Loki, Odin, Jane Foster and Malekith.

Spoiler alerts have been issued so stop reading right now if you do not want to know what has been uncovered at one of the Captain America: The Winter Soldier sets in Cleveland. Filming inside of an old bank vault at Huntington Bank in Downtown Cleveland, a fan had sent in photos with permission of use and claimed that actor Robert Redford is said to be appearing at this location on Wednesday June 26 with Captain America himself. Both are said to be a part of a torture scene which focuses on the torture chair in the photos below. Sounds like Steve Rogers is about to be strapped in for some physical and mental suffering. Update from The Daily SuperHero: Sorry folks, Marvel had Cbm take down these images. However, the text remains which tells me this scene is wrong while the chair was definitely real. Hmmm, makes things even more intriguing.

A recent photo from the set of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" not only confirms Hayley Atwell is returning for the role of Peggy Carter, but confirms the scene won't be a flashback.
Filming took place on Harcourt Drive in Cleveland Heights, Ohio on Wednesday where a home was converted into a makeshift nursing home for a scene in which Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) visits fellow World War II veterans.
It's there he reunites with Peggy Carter. Atwell was dressed as an elderly woman though her facial features remained fairly unchanged other than being plastered with a lot of CG reference spots - indicating the character's 90 year old appearance will be achieved with computer graphics rather than heavy makeup. Check out the photo below.

Some lucky Stone Roses fans are still recovering from the emotional outlay of seeing their favourite band And Shane Meadows in one room at last week's world premiere of 'Made Of Stone' in Manchester.
'Made of Stone' begins with a mesmerising shot of Ian Brown meeting the band's fans
For the rest of the band's devoted following, Meadows' love letter to his musical icons is in cinemas this week, and we have an Exclusive. Worldwide. Clip above.
Meadows has made an unapologetically gushing film about the Stone Roses reunion - something he signposted early on, telling frontman Ian Brown that if they let anyone else make the documentary, he would kill himself.
This has irked some critics (such as our own blogger Ashley Hames - read what he has to say here), but there is much to admire, too (my own review here).

It’s been nearly a week since actor/activist/American treasure Alec Baldwin was kicked off of an American Airlines flight after a dispute with a crew member over his refusal to stop playing Words with Friends on a hand-held electronic devise. In addition to ignoring Faa regulations, Baldwin reportedly made a scene by slamming the bathroom door on the plane and became aggressive and rude to the staff. (That’s right, Jack Donaghy went and pulled a Tracy Jordan.) For most celebrities, a headline-grabbing stunt like that would be enough to get them through the week, if not the entire holiday season,...

A look at Steve Rogers' outfit in "Captain America: The First Avenger" has been obtained in some set pictures. In the photos obtained by Daily Mail, the stunt double of Chris Evans was seen wearing the superhero costume complete with his helmet, shield and belt while filming a motorbike scene in the London countryside on Wednesday, September 8.
Though lead actor Evans himself was not seen during the production that day, the pictures manage to reveal other characters from the film which are Hydra agents. The baddies were apparently involved in a chase sequence with the stunt double as they were seen riding futuristic motorcycles which sport Hydra logo. Another vehicle, a Forties-style car, which has a similar symbol was also spotted being driven through a woodland location.

Welcome to This Week in Comics, where every day is a comic book. And some of them are naaaasty!
So Kick-Ass #8 Did come out last week. Who read it? Show of hands? Wasn’t it Violent? Fantastic. Yes, my tastes can be very simple.
Monday
First Issues
Milestone Forever #1 (of 2)
(Dwayne McDuffie/John Paul Leon/MD Bright/Romeo Tanghal/Others)
DC Comics
Milestone Media: a comic company headed by minority creators who struck a publishing deal with DC Comics only to have their books totally written off by comics’ inherently racist readership. In the years since their comics folded, one property, Static, became a pretty good cartoon called Static Shock and a couple of years ago DC Comics announced it was absorbing the Milestone Universe into the Dcu. Which means, of course, that DC bought more characters it can ignore and use as cannon fodder in big crossovers. Dwayne McDuffie must be so proud.

This week’s “Pull of the Week” Captain America #600 has already sold out. The epic 600 issue series milestone has been announced to go to a second printing with a variant cover featuring the interior art splash page from artist Butch Guice. Following the mainstream media attention the issue received and the comic being released on Monday as opposed to the regular Wednesday ship date, this has been the most talked about issue of Captain America since Steve Rogers was shot and killed two years ago.
About the milestone issue, David Gabriel, Marvel Senior Vice-President of Sales & Circulation, had this to say: “First and foremost, I’d like to thank all those retailers who made this amazing event possible by participating in this special advance release on Monday. Despite what might have been the largest overprint we’ve ever done for a book, copies sold out well before even the early on sale date.
