Beaver is invited over to Larry's house for dinner. It's about time, says Wally, "after all the times he comes here and stuffs his face." June then dresses the beaver up in a suit and tie!! My, how times have changed. In fact, less than a decade later no kid - and 99 percent of all parents - would have to dress up like that just to go over to his best friend's for a meal. Anyway......after dinner Beaver and Larry get into an argument. Beaver winds up calling home to get a ride home. All the Cleavers know is that the two boys had a fight and abruptly ended the evening - and their friendship. Ward goes up to the boys room later and tells the story of Damon and Pythias. The story impresses Beaver and Wally.
Beaver sees Larry before school and makes a friendship pact with him, a la Damon and Pythias. Larry then asks to "test it out." He wants to take Beaver's homework assignment because he fell asleep last night and didn't do it. Larry ALWAYS suggests doing the wrong thing! Beaver says "no" at first, saying he can't "give another guy my homework. Miss Landers would kill me." Larry uses guilt, and weak-willed and nice-guy Beaver relents, giving Larry his homework. Of course, when they collect the assignments, Beaver doesn't have his, and Miss Landers makes him stay after school and lose recess privileges for a week. Larry shows no remorse, happy that Beaver is taking the fall for him.
However, there is a good ending to this, of course and a shocker: Larry actually does the right thing!
