  First Swedish Officer : Please get in.

  [the exhausted Inspector does so] 

  Inspector Kouichi Zenigata : It's ten o'clock at night, but it's still light outside. Why is that?

  Second Swedish Officer : Because of the midnight sun, Inspector.

  Inspector Kouichi Zenigata : I know that! I'm asking you why I can't sleep!

  First Swedish Officer : It's probably because it's too bright.

  [He presents an eye mask] 

  First Swedish Officer : Please use this.

  [Zenigata fastens the eye mask around his eyes, then yawns] 

  Second Swedish Officer : [not realizing Zenigata is already asleep]  We've heard you've come all the way from Japan pursuing Lupin, Inspector.

  Inspector Kouichi Zenigata : [startled]  What? Lupin? Where? I can't see anything! It's dark! What is this? How come I can't see? I can't see anything. Is this the end of the world?

  First Swedish Officer : It's because you have the eye mask on, Inspector.

  Inspector Kouichi Zenigata : Huh?

  [He lifts the eye mask] 

  Inspector Kouichi Zenigata : Oh, I guess you're right. That midnight sun is so annoying!

  [He pulls the eye mask back over his eyes] 

  First Swedish Officer : Why did Lupin come here, Inspector?

  Inspector Kouichi Zenigata : [drowsily]  That bastard seems to be planning an escape to the North Pole. From a secret North Pole base, he plans to escape to the Moon. So I've sent an urgent telegram to the chief, requesting a rocket be made immediately to pursue Lupin. I'll go to the moon on the rocket, and I will arrest that bastard. He'll probably try to escape with the three-loop somersault, and I'll counteract with the moon somersault. Do you understand?

  [He falls asleep. Outside the car, Lupin and Jigen stroll up to the car] 

  Daisuke Jigen : Ah, that blindfolded guy looks like Pops.

  Arsène Lupin III : Poor guy. He must have done something wrong and got busted.

  [He gets out a cigarette and approaches the drivers] 

  Arsène Lupin III : Hi. Thank you for your hard work. Can I borrow your lighter?

  Second Swedish Officer : You can't smoke here.

  [Lupin approaches Zenigata] 

  Arsène Lupin III : [reaching in through the window and getting the sleeping policeman's handcuffs]  Oh, I totally forgot! Sorry.

  [He gives a friendly wave and they walk down the street, laughing] 

  Inspector Kouichi Zenigata : [suddenly waking up]  Hmm? That laughter... Hey, wait! Lupin! He must have escaped to the other side of the moon! Damn it!

  First Swedish Officer : Calm down, Inspector. You're on Earth.

  [Zenigata takes the eye mask off] 

  Inspector Kouichi Zenigata : Was it a dream? I slept very well. Thank you.

  First Swedish Officer , Second Swedish Officer : [as Zenigata rubs his eyes]  You're welcome.

  [Zenigata gets out of the car] 

  Inspector Kouichi Zenigata : What an annoying midnight sun.

  [He starts to move, but can't] 

  Inspector Kouichi Zenigata : Hey! What are you doing? Let go! I'm telling you to let go of me!

  [He finds that the belt loop of his coat has been handcuffed to the car door]
