Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not watched “Kara,” the series finale of “Supergirl.”
After six seasons of saving National City, “Supergirl” has come to a close — but not before Kara, a.k.a. Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), had to make a number of life-changing decisions.
With villains Lex Luthor (Jon Cryer) and Nyxly (Peta Sergeant) in-fighting at the start of the Nov. 9 series finale, titled “Kara,” the people of Earth became increasingly despondent as the bad guys sucked out their life force. Kara realized her entire mission was noble, but flawed: “We don’t need to be heroes,” she explained to her Super friends. “We need to be partners.”
The next step was empowering people to become the heroes of their own lives, which Supergirl conveyed worldwide thanks to a power assist from Brainy (Jesse Rath). In addition to helping humanity, it also drained Lex and Nyxly’s power,...

The Girl of Steel's story is coming to a close.
The CW has dropped plot details for the double-episode series finale of Supergirl, and it sounds out of this world.
The first hour is called "The Last Gauntlet" and finds Supergirl and her friends trying to save a loved one from the clutches of Nyxly and Lex.
"In the penultimate buildup to the season finale, Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and the super friends take drastic action after a loved one is kidnapped by Nyxly (Peta Sergeant) and Lex (guest star Jon Cryer)," the logline teases.
"An unlikely ally steps in to help the team," it continues, but who could this mystery character be?
We have no clue, but wouldn't it be fun if we got to see Clark helping his cousin save the world one last time?
We can hope!
Then again, the logline for the finale includes Tyler Hoechlin's...

E3 2020 has been canceled as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. As a result, many studios have stepped forward to set up their own digital events designed to capture the magic of E3 and preserve the traditional June reveal season. These online events are sure to be full of surprises, memorable moments, and incredible trailers.
And if they’re anything like E3s of the past, they’ll also feature games that will generate quite a bit of hype but will never see the light of day. Video games get canceled quietly all the time, but there’s nothing quite as strange as a game that makes a splash at the biggest show of the year and then vanishes without a trace.

Legends of Tomorrow is following up last season’s inspired Friends, Star Trek and Downton Abbey homage episode by spoofing Disney animated classics and singing competition shows.
In a new trailer for Season 6 of the CW superhero series (premiering this Sunday at 8/7c), Astra (Olivia Swann) somehow — don’t think too hard about it; it’s Legends after all — gets transformed into an animated princess. Elsewhere, the Legends visit a singing competition program called Da Throne, which looks like the lovechild of American Idol and The Masked Singer.

From the writer of The Ring comes an experiment which gives me some serious Dreamscape vibes.
As we previous reported, Kyôfu is being promoted as the sixth and final movie in the "J-Horror Theater" (J horâ shiatâ) series - the five previous movies being Hideo Nakata's Kaidan, Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Retribution
(Sakebi), Takashi Shimizu's Reincarnation (Rinne), Norio Tsuruta's
Premonition and Masayuki Ochiai's Infection (Kansen).

We've just been informed by our pal The Gomorrahizer that a website for The Ring's Hiroshi Takahashi's newest j horror film, Kyôfu, has gone live. We've also been shown some first stills which are quite a sight.

With a multiracial, Hawaii/Indonesia-raised president in the White House, it’s fortuitous that the issue of mixed race is also at the core of many films in the 27th San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival (“Sfiaaff”). That’s the observation with which Festival Director Chi-hui Yang and Assistant Director Vicci Ho kicked off last week’s press conference announcing this year’s line-up. Additionally, they noted a marked emphasis on films from South Asia, South Korea and Japan this year. I think the program is an even stronger one than usual, at least in terms of containing many of the films I’ve been hoping to see. Here’s a look at some highlights.
The big event is undoubtedly the seven-film spotlight on Kiyoshi Kurosawa, the Japanese auteur best known for his metaphysical thrillers Cure and Pulse. Kurosawa was last here in 2004 for the Sf International Film Festival’s screenings of Doppelganger,...

From acclaimed Japanese director Kiyoshi Kurosawa comes the film "Tokyo Sonata," which portrays an ordinary family in modern Japan caught in the throes of inert pride, stymied by their own inability to communicate honestly with one another.

The film stars Teruyuki Kagawa (Warau Lemon, Hero), Kyoko Koizumi (Ten Nights Of Dream), Yu Koyanagi (Clearness) and Kai Inowaki. The latest from hugely acclaimed Japanese director Kiyoshi Kurosawa has been hailed as a major departure for the man behind existential horror gems such as Cure and Kairo (Pulse). And in most ways it is, Kurosawa seeming to have wrapped up the horror phase of his career with Sakebi (Retribution). Tokyo Sonata leaves the genre trappings behind entirely, operating instead as a low key family drama but if you leave the genre issue aside it is pure, one hundred percent recognizable Kurosawa and a sort of spiritual successor to Bright Future - a more mature, farther down the road of life look at the same issues of identity and purpose (or lack thereof) that drove his earlier hit film.
