Sex & Nudity

- Rebels make sexual references throughout the game.
- Stalkers are fully nude, however their reproductive parts are surgically removed. Vaginas (sealed off, but still visible) and buttocks can still be seen.
- There is no sex or nudity in the game.
Violence & Gore

- The violence isn't over the top but the game still contains enough blood and gore to warrant the M for Mature rating.
- A Strider's brain is ripped out and tossed towards the player.
- Combine Advisors jab their tongues into the back of humans' necks and a lot of blood spurts out.
- Combine Zombies have most of their heads chewed away by headcrabs leaving only their lower jaw.
- There's pretty much non-stop violence in the game.
- Aliens can be killed with a variety of guns, from pistols to rocket launchers, or by throwing every sort of object to them. There is some blood when a character is hit.
- Aliens and zombies have yellow and green blood, and across the maps some props like skulls or bones can be found. They can also be blown up or dismembered and gore will follow.
- Allies such as medics and rebels and enemies such as Combine Soldiers all bleed red blood.
- You can use many modern and science-fiction weapons to kill enemies.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

- The majority of the game is one big action chase sequence with minor breaks in between. The combat is the most intense out of all the Half-Life games and the game will keep players on edge throughout.
- The whole game is somewhat intense, especially when you get attacked by aliens, soldiers, or zombies.
Spoilers
Sex & Nudity
- Close to the end Eli mentions how humans aren't infertile anymore and how Gordon can impregnate Alyx, it's mainly meant as a joke since Alyx is embarrassed.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
- In the end, Eli dies, which can be very frightening for most younger players because he is one of the most important characters in the whole series.
- At one part in the game you can find a burnt corpse with a blood splatter behind his head and a shotgun next to him, implying suicide. Could scare some people
