Chief Superintendent Brownlow is called to a meeting with DAC Hicks, those high up the ladder at Sun Hill start vying for position, in the hope of landing the top job.
They have definitely been hammering home the story of Brownlow's future for ages. Implied conversations about him being pensioned of, set out to grass, sent to the knackers yard etc, but nothing up until now has ever come of it.
I wonder if Alistair has been on holiday for some time, it seems so long since we've seen him, I am a fan of his. The story of Tobin is good, he's a smart cookie, and knows exactly how to play the game, much to everyone's frustration.
It's definitely a wishy washy episode, but it's an important cog in the wheel, a political stepping point, but one that is relevant. There are lots of cracking moments, including the wonderful scene between Brownlow and Polly, what a lovely touch that was.
I'm not sure I've ever given enough credit to Peter Ellis, he is great as Brownlow, his face gives a definite reassurance. It would be a shame if he moved on....
Very good, great outcome, 8/10.
