- TriviaAfter scenes in which Ricky's T-shirt reveals 'clean' arms, he suddenly appears in a final scene, talking with his Mom and Dad, with his name written on his left arm, just above the elbow, as if it were a tattoo, with no explanation nor mention in the dialog.
- GoofsWhen Ozzie goes into the dining room and finds Ricky sitting at the table, the shadow of a boom microphone moves across the kitchen door behind him.
- Quotes
[Ricky is on his way out with a football, and Harriet asks him where he's going]
Ozzie Nelson: Harriet, I wish you wouldn't pump the boy like that.
Harriet Nelson: [sounding slightly defensive] I'm not pumping him. I just want to know where he's going and who he's going with.
Ricky Nelson: Don't worry about me, Mom. I'm very resourceful.
Harriet Nelson: Well, I hope so.
Ozzie Nelson: Of course he is.
Ricky Nelson: Thanks, Pop.
[he leaves the room, then a few seconds later, comes back in]
Ricky Nelson: Pop?... What does 'resourceful' mean?
Ozzie Nelson: [chuckling] Why don't you look it up in the dictionary if you don't know what it means?
Ricky Nelson: That's OK, I think I know what it means, anyway.
[he starts to leave the room again]
Ozzie Nelson: Hey, wait a minute, wait a minute. OK, what does it mean?
Ricky Nelson: Come to think of it, I guess I don't know what it means.
Ozzie Nelson: Why don't you look it up?
Ricky Nelson: I guess I'm just too lazy.
Ozzie Nelson: [bemused] Well, that's a good answer.
Ricky Nelson: [leaving the room again, this time for good] I may not be resourceful, but I'm lazy and I'm honest. For me that's somethin'.
One of David's relatives, thinking he is already in college and smoking send him a pipe. They obviously do not realize he is only 15. After getting the pipe, David sports it all around town. Ozzie and Harriet are worried that he will start smoking.
Finally, David is seen purchasing pipe tobacco at the local drug store. Thorny tells Ozzie about the purchase and that he should have picked a much better brand of tobacco. Also David claimed that he was buying the tobacco for his mother.
Later Ozzies goes home to tell Harriet and she is putting the tobacco in sleeves to kill moths in the closets. She told Ozzie that she had to trust David and sent him to get the tobacco. Later David admits he was tempted to try smoking the pipe but the aroma of the tobacco made him not want to do it.
Finally, David tells his parents that he gave the pipe away. In comes Ricky with the pipe in his mouth. He asks his parents if they want to see him smoke it and he blows bubbles out of it.
So really Ozzie and Harriet were worried over nothing.
