Dave reluctantly volunteers to drive Larry & Kenny to a comic book convention in Philadelphia, especially since Dave really wanted to watch the Jets game that day.
Meanwhile back at home, Mike is introduced to caffeine by Vicky to help him stay up so he can read the book Moby Dick for school. Vicky must also contend with Hillary, who wants to sleep over at a boys house.
At the end of the day, although Dave has no interest in Larry's passion for the comic book world, he tries to make his son happy by taking him & his friend to the convention. Dave's lack of enthusiasm is a bit of a downer for Larry but Dave tries to make up for it in the end when he meets Larry's hero in the restroom, "Zoltar" and tries to get his autograph for Larry. When Zoltar rudely refuses, all havoc breaks loose between Dave & Zoltar and it spills out onto the convention floor. Whose side will Larry defend?

Larry: But this (convention) is where all the fun is Kenny: We can go to a restaurant anytime, how often do you get to have aliens serve you your lunch Dave: Apparently you've never had a burrito at the Quickie mart.
