Adapted from the BBC radio series.
This sitcom of three generations of women in the same household is genteel to say the least.
Sarah France (Prunella Scales) has been recently widowed at the age of 42. She lives with her elderly mother Eleanor Prescott and her daughter, 18 year old Clare who wants her independence.
In the first episode, Sarah goes to investigate local tennis coach Nick. He is the older man who is going out with Clare. He wrongly believes that the age difference is only 10 years thinking that Clare is 24.
Nick is a real charmer who asks Sarah out making her feel guilty of taking away her daughter's boyfriend.
After Henry was a long running show and had high viewing figures. It is a little too polite for my liking. It all a bit nice, respectable and middle class.
I have to say Prunella Scales struggled to convince me that she was only 42 when the actress was in her mid 50s.
