Clare is feeling incredibly low and fragile after her breakup with Edward, Russell suggests assertiveness training, and Clare naturally takes it on. Vera is suffering at the hands of the ever assertive Eleanor. Sarah herself is suffering from a lack of assertion at the hands of the ever lustful Giles.
This is quite a good episode, it has a bit more going on then you see on the surface. The main one being a look at a mental health issue, for a comedy from the 80's/90's era to look at such a topic, albeit fleetingly, was quite good, not something you really saw even spoken about.
Favourite scene, where Vera puts her own training into practice. 8/10
