THIS MAN DAWSON – The Bomber – 1960

This is episode 30 of the 1959-60 Police series, THIS MAN DAWSON. The series ran for a total of 39 episodes. Keith Andes headlines the series about an Ex-Military Officer hired to run a big city Police Department. The city is never named. Each episode starts and finishes with William Conrad doing the narration of the night's story.

A man, Vic Perrin, is planting bombs around the city in various public locations. He then calls the Police and warns them they have 30 minutes to find and defuse the bomb. He gives the Police the general location of the bomb. The Police have been lucky so far in that they have managed to find, and disarm the all the devices. They know that this string of successes will not keep up.

Fingerprint evidence leads nowhere. They catch a break when a man, Perrin, is spotted at a building site where some dynamite was stolen. The description goes out to all the local law. The Police and Chief Keith Andes catch another break when a woman, Charlotte Lawrence, phones Andes.

It seems that her husband, Perrin, is the bomber. He is angry with the Police because he lost his Bar and Grill business. He blames the Police over his booze license being revoked for serving underage drinkers. He claims it never happened, and it was a cash grab by some local Policemen.

Perrin is captured with the help of his wife before anyone is killed or hurt. He is sent off for a visit to the State Mental Hospital. Andes has, the Police involved in the license revoking incident, investigated. Turns out they are crooked. Andes has them brought up on charges.

This is another quick and to the point episode of this better than expected series.
