Lily is a grinch!

Lily infuriates me in this episode - after breaking her fiancés heart she then had the nerve to get annoyed for being called out on it. What's worse is the fact that her childish retaliation would hurt Marshall the most if he knew about it!

I did enjoy the super religious family of Ted's - the kids line 'is it the gift of God's love?' cracks me up every time.

How Lily Stole Christmas (#2.11)

It is great how they keep on finding ways to get Lily leaving Marshall back into the story and at the same time not only make it funny but also use it to make that part of the story less likely to hurt them later as all their friendships are just getting stronger.

In this episode this happens between Lily and Ted. She hears an old message from the time she left where Ted calls her "grinch". And it is such a good idea, because obviously this is what Ted thought of her back then. And we also get reminded that she left all her friends and Ted was not just mad because of Marshall. But yet he still loves her as we see he very well remembers what would make his friend's Christmas happier. And her coming traditionally with a beer to make it up was also sweet.

So What Is A Grinch??

After the best episode of the season so far it's disappointing for it to drop so far in quality with this festive episode.

As is always the case with this show, when a poor episode comes along it hardly features Neil Patrick Harris's character Barney Stinson, other than in a smaller supporting role.

Plot In A Paragraph: After hearing an old voicemail from Ted to Marshall (from when they were broke up) where he calls her a Grinch (he says Grinch to his kids, but admits that's not what he said) Lily takes all of the Christmas decorations to her old apartment as punishment until he apologises, which he is refusing to do as in his opinion she was a Grinch who left his best friend in pieces.

I love this episode so much! The perfect Christmas episode to watch around this time of year! Such great plot & the holiday atmosphere? It's just magical!
