The battle scene is sensational
deickemeyer3 April 2016
The mechanical work in this film is good and it tells a story of intrigue and the murder of a king. The king's young son is spirited away and secreted. Ultimately he appears and arouses the populace against his unnatural mother. She urges her paramour to lead the royal guard against the mob. But he is a coward and shirks his duty. She dons his armor and leads the guard herself. The battle scene is sensational and the young prince singles out the one whom he supposes to be the craven prince. When he has killed him he is astounded to find that he has killed his own mother. Such films have, perhaps, an element of realism, but in the main they are imaginary. - The Moving Picture World, August 26, 1911
