When it comes to "Schoolhouse Rock" everybody has their favorite but it typically comes down to a battle for first place. The two in question are "I'm Just a Bill" and this one. Sorry to the fans of Bill, but this one wins.
To those of us that grew up on Saturday morning cartoons, Schoolhouse Rock was a part of childhood. You sat there eating your Cap'n Crunch, watching Scooby Doo and between the cartoons they showed these little ditties. They taught us math, grammar, science and other things without us realizing it which speaks to it's strength. When in class if I forgot what something times something else was I'd rifle through my memory and pull up the episode in question.
But throughout the years the one that really makes me nostalgic and has stayed with me all that time is Conjunction Junction. It's a great little song about a train conductor that hooks up trains, using conjunctions, to make sentences. It doesn't sound like much but that's part of it's charm. There simply isn't another one quite like it. And years later I still remember the lyrics.
