This series was slotted into a Sunday evening "family" hour time-slot - noted for it's "bloodless violence". While filming this episode, the scene in the bank where Kim Coates character shoots the bank manager at point blank range, filming was stopped and the question raised; "Do we think this is too violent?". After a short pause, Kim Coates replied, "After I just kicked a woman in the face? Probably not."
Most of the bank staff were actually staff of the Financial Office used for the shoot.
A prop ATM Machine was installed in front of the actual ATM for the bank used in the shoot (and shooting during business hours). One person slipped past the notice of the crew and tried to use their card in the prop, which then was retrieved amidst much laughter.
The van used by Kim Coates character and his crew looks very shiny & new, but was, in fact, very old and used and couldn't have the engine shut off or it wouldn't start. Additionally, it had a 10" hole in the floor directly over the exhaust. While filming the scene where they speed into the warehouse, those inside were barraged by a large amount of fumes (especially after several takes). The opening in the 'wall' the van drives through was also just a bit too small, meaning the mirrors had to be pushed in and the van driven quite slowly through...adding to the discomfort.
