The plot centers around two milestone odometer readings. The characters continuously alternate between saying miles and clicks (kilometers).
Marshall states that a homeless man threw up in the back seat. There is no back seat in a Fiero.
Marshall talks about "a bum who threw up in the back seat" which was really Thai food spilled by Robin while Lily was driving but the Fiero is a two-seater car and has no back seat. (Ironically, the previous flashback memory of picking up a hitchhiking Waldo demonstrates this lack of a back seat as Marshall, Ted and Waldo share two front seats. That, and anything, including Thai food, spilled during hard braking would fly forward, not toward the "back seat".)
For the odometer to click round 200k the car would need to be in gear and that would be impossible to push, even worse if it were an automatic.
When Ted and Marshall are driving down the highway in Marshall's Fiero they are on a one way highway, but all the signs are facing the way that they are driving, meaning that no one would see the signs unless they turned the car around
In the intro when Marshall and Ted hit a pothole the background is static.
While they are on their college road trip the registration on the car says '07.
During the road trip a late 2000s GMC Sierra is seen passing the Fiero despite the fact that the trip takes place during the mid-90s.
After Marshall tells his coffee incident, the image goes back to Ted who says: ''And that is the origin of Marshall's insane no food...'' However, for the first few words, we can hear Ted's voice, but the visual does not show him talking.
When Ted and Marshall are driving back to the Midwest from Wesleyan, they pass a road sign for exit W6, Merrick Road, off of the Wantagh Parkway - they are actually headed south towards Jones Beach on Long Island.
When the gang tries to push the car the last 0.7 miles to 200,000 they have trouble; the mechanic says this is because the rear wheels are on blocks. These "blocks" are at best a small platform which, aside from having no realistic place in any garage, wouldn't restrict pushing a car in the slightest.
