A nice and worthwhile DVD extra

Layne Tom was one of the Charlie Chan children in three of the Charlie Chan films. And, with the possible exception of Keye Luke (as Lee Chan--also called 'Number One Son'), was probably the best of the Chan brood. Victor Sen Young (#2 Son) was also excellent, but none of the kids were as precocious and adorable and bright as the character played by Layne Tom.

This film is about the career of Tom in Chan films (limited as it is) and interviews him for insights into films. His recollections were pretty interesting---particularly how he really loved Warner Oland even though he always strongly reeked of alcohol. I have read about Oland's alcoholism but oddly there isn't anything on his IMDb biography about this. But fortunately, the film is NOT meant to dig up the dirt and most of Tom's memories are truly interesting and sweet. A great little film for die-hard fans of the series.
