Too Short
tarlabossiere22 April 2020
The only problem with Oh, Jerome No, is that the 5 minute episodes are far too short! This surreal comedy project is timely, relatable, and hi-larious! Athie, as the central protagonist facing millennial dating woes, is an absolute sweet treat, and one can see why so many comedy a-listers lent their name to FXXs short. FX generally provides above quality content when it comes to their TV series and this production meets the mold and then some! Would definitely suggest giving it a watch!

Grew on me

Warning: Spoilers
I was not sure about this series until the sixth episode but during it fell into like with the show. Sometimes developing interest in a show takes a while, a show burn of sorts. I had a moment like this when I fell into serious like with Broad City during the Hurricane Wanda episode.

I will say that I really enjoyed this series, I can see how it fits in FXX. It's endearing, quirky and engaging. Not laugh out load for me but was sweet, thoughtful, and often brought a smile to my face.

If you are prone to enjoy offbeat shows with heavy comedic elements you might enjoy this.

Why have I never heard of this?!

I can't believe I've never heard of this. What a delightful show. Really wonderful expression of how emotions stoke surrealism in reality and command the different situations we attempt to navigate. A must watch for lovers of romantic comedy.

I can't stop watching this.

I'm obsessed. The amount of information communicated in each 12ish minute episode is... astounding. It is a master class in economical and effective screenwriting. Multiple fun conventions, like BFF Dan played by various white men in the same shirt, repeated line, "It's 6 inches, you just have to measure it diagonally," and a beach full of lovers' lost ID bracelets, along with brilliant, grounded performances make for the mix of melancholic absurdity with laugh-out-loud moments that is my personal ideal vibe. Mamoudou Athie is a goddamn gift. Georgina Campbell is an extremely welcome familiar face from Hang the DJ, my favorite Black Mirror episode. More of her formidable British talent everywhere, please. Also, the music throughout is stellar. Ugh. I love this show so much. Where has it been all my life? Can I ever hope to create something that strikes this nerve it has hit in me? Bravo to all involved. I think this show is perfect and it has inspired me. I'm lovingly foisting it on to friends and family. So far no one has complained.

Oh and I don't think the episodes are too short. I think they are exactly as long as they need to be. The fact that they only need to be 12 minutes is mind blowing and truly, the tightness of the storytelling is a feat to behold. Ugh. Gonna go watch it again. Thank you.

Love this show

I'm normally really critical on what shows I watch to the extent that I normally watch reruns of old faves, but I effortlessly made it through this show. I took a chance on this one and I'm soo glad. I really hope it makes it for at least another 5 seasons. Kind of in a rush rn but watch this! Episodes are approx 10mins
