Nice well-made comedy with great acting
mvahidalizadeh22 February 2021
This is the story of a man who works in a drug company. One day by chance he finds out that his boss is spying on the women in the office. He informs his female co-worker about the issue and they try to find out what his boss is up to. The story is well-written. I see many different locations in the movie. I liked the movements of the camera. I didn't hear anything special about the sound effect and background music, but they were ok. I saw an amazing acting crew. Andrew Creer, Jonathan Bennett, and Samantha Robinson were awesome. I am pretty sure we will hear from Jonathan Bennett in the comedy genre more. He reminded me of Jim Carrey. I recommend this movie for comedy genre fans.

Hard to review

I wouldn't say it's a bad movie but not good one as well. In many details its quite insanely hilarious, but many parts are long and didn't quite fit the storyline. But overall speaking, it's ok to kill time and at least I paid most of my attention during the movie.

FINALLY AN INDIE COMEDY WORTH WATCHING!!!!
apcaly22 February 2021
Loved this movie, if you want to spend a night laughing for a change after the last year, watch this one! It is just funny, great script, all the actors hit out of the park and it is a first time micro budget flick. Gotta support these small producers who put it on the line....this one is very deserving our hard earned $$$$

BE SOMEBODY
sovator20 February 2021
I saw this film at the Valley Film Fest back in November and it definitely punches above its weight. The cast deliveries some truly memorable performances. The premise revolves around a corporation mining personal data and building profiles and selling them to the highest bidder. And oh yea, the CEO of the company is some jacked Tarzan wannabe guy in a loin cloth. The movie had me laughing out loud multiple times; a feat that is not easy to do. I feel like most modern comedies these days lack those truly memorable scenes, but I've been finding myself telling my coworkers to "BE SOMEBODY" way too much. They don't know what I'm talking about because they haven't seen the movie yet, but once they do they'll see how cool I was for being the first to quote the movie.

So what are you waiting for? Go watch this movie and BE SOMEBODY. BE SOMEBODY. BE SOMEBODY.

Loved this entertaining ride!

Loved the great writing and acting in this really fun romp that kept me wondering what hijinks are coming next while being sucked right into the compelling characters to the point of readily loving and hating various ones. Laughed out loud throughout at the witty comebacks and clever smart assy humor bits. A really fun and entertaining movie! II'm very impressed by this first feature film from such a talented artist, Maceo Greenberg, and am really looking forward to seeing what he comes up with next! 😎🤙🏽

Office Space + Workaholics + The Big Lebowski = Take Me To Tarzana
crons89 March 2021
Take Me To Tarzana combines the relatable day-in-day-out corporate drudgery of Office Space with the shenanigans of Workaholics set in a high stakes scheme-gone-wild plot reminiscent of The Big Lebowski. The elements mix well for a hilarious romp around LA while weaving an important narrative centering on current fears of workplace harassment and Big Tech spying on (and monetizing) our deepest secrets. This is the Millennial answer to the impending midlife life crisis that is office place malaise and having our most personal data exposed all over the web. Come for the prescient story on the corruption of big data, stay for the psychedelics-fueled trip with a monkey in a jungle mansion.

The entire cast is very solid, but Jonathan Bennett especially knocks his comedic performance out of the park, which pairs well with Owen Harn's Tarzan-themed techno villain. Chris Coppola is perfectly sleazy, Bob Wiltfong shows up to crush your soul and make you laugh out loud all at once, and Maria Conchita Alonso even sneaks in for some hilarious guest work with Emanuel Hernandez as her son in the funniest liquor-store-operating duo this side of Hollywood. Take Me to Tarzana is well-crafted indie production storytelling at its finest. Well worth the price of admission.

What a wild ride!

A hilarious romp that thoroughly entertains with a fine balance of intelligence and vulgarity, while slyly taking merciless shots at the deserving institutions of our time including corporate America, big pharma, big data and so on.

A great cast and a handful of over-the-top comedic performances will leave some of these characters with you long after the credits roll. Well done.

Maceo Greenberg has created a great film. From the opening scenes to the closing scenes, it kept me wondering where it was going to go and excited to see where it went. The acting, cinematography, and storyline, were superb. If you've not seen it yet, do so and enjoy a romp to Tarzana!

A hilarious, zany comedy!
ImageMachine23 February 2021
If you like light-hearted, a bit goofy, crowd-pleasing comedies, this is the movie for you. The cast all give great performances with Jonathan Bennett especially stealing every scene he's in. Maceo Greenberg provides sturdy direction and a witty script in his debut feature. The movie also throws in some trenchant social commentary along with the laughs that gives the viewer something to think about after the credits roll. We can all use a laugh these days, so check this movie out.

Come for the skateboarding dog, trippy drugs, and monkey; stay for the Scrum meetings.

Take Me to Tarzana (TMTT) is a topical and hilarious dark comedy about big tech stealing and selling personal data and the 3 unlikely friends that ban together to stop the jungle-loving, Tarzan-obsessed CEO and his equally disgusting and dangerous underlings from exploiting Americans.

Written and directed by Maceo Greenberg, and crowdfunded through WeFunder, TMTT is the 2020 WorldFest Houston Gold Remi Award recipient for Best Feature Film Comedy and stars Jonathan Bennett (Mean Girls), Samantha Robinson (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), and Andrew Creer (Netflix's You).

The film's supporting cast includes the incomparable Maria Conchita Alonso, Oliver Cooper, Kahyun Kim, Owen Harn, Chris Coppola, and Bob Wiltfong with cameos by Summer the Cat as 'Summer', Sadie the Dog as 'Dizzy', and Tara the Monkey as 'Tutu'.

Highly enjoyable and twisted quirk of a film with a great premise. Humorously acted by all.

Come for the skateboarding dog, trippy drugs, and monkey; stay for the Scrum meetings.

BE SOMEBODY! Your friends will think you're cool if you turn them on to this movie.
brian-farst12 June 2021
It's like when you meet somebody that hasn't seen Lebowski and your get to watch it with them. This is one of those movies. Perfectly timed released when we needed a laugh. Well crafted characters and snappy dialogue make this movie a fun watch. And there's a cute monkey. Who doesn't like that? BE SOMEBODY!
