Good Start. Poor Finish.

This shares some of the same cast and crew with "Kinbaku: Hana no Shô" although a different story. Both are centered on Kinbaku, basically rope bondage.

The story is simple. A widow wants revenge from the woman she blames for her husband's suicide. Revenge is using Kinbaku. Of course, most of us could think of better forms of revenge especially when spending 10,000,000 Yen! That's like $70,000.

So first we get a back story. Then are treated to seeing the woman put into rope bondage, Kinbaku in front of a seated audience. Along with narration explaining the how and why's of the knots and mechanics involved with the rope. The narration goes on more than half the movie, interspersed with more of the characters back story. Up to that point, the movie is very interesting and even educational. Then it falls apart.

From there it tries to tie the story and characters together, but very sloppy. Then in the last 15 or so minutes (the entire movie is only an hour and ten minutes) we go from two characters tied up and suspended in bondage to both characters fully dressed with no rope. Huh? But they do get tied up again in a different position than before. Besides the Kinbaku narration, there is narration concerning Japan's birth rate, women's reproductive system and social climate. But please don't take everything as fact.

This is basically a pink move. So there is nudity but pretty much limited to bare breasts. In fact none of the female characters (played by JAV actresses) remove any clothing. Clothing is just readjusted to reveal breasts. The rope work is very good though sometimes it drags a bit as it takes time to accomplish. The acting was very good for some. Mediocre for others.

By halfway thru I would have given it 7 or 8 stars out of 10. But the last quarter of the movie just didn't work for me at all so only 5 taken in it's entirety. So maybe consider watching the first 45 minutes only.
