"Malleus Maleficarum" means Hammer of the Wicked in Latin (commonly, however, incorrectly translated as 'Hammer of the Witches'). It is the title for a fifteenth century treatise on witches. It was used to argue the nature and reality of witchcraft and was used in the persecution and execution of women accused of witchcraft across Europe in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.

The song playing in the car when Paul Dutton begins eating the hexed burger is "I Put a Spell on You" (1956) by Screamin' Jay Hawkins. It starts as Poison's Every Rose Has it's Thorn then Changes after she says "This Dinner was cooked for you Paul Arthur Dutton now you're gonna eat it" to I Put a Spell on You by Screaming Jay.
When reporting Amanda's dead body Dean says the address is 309 Mayfair Circle. This is probably a reference to Anne Rice's 'Mayfair Witches'.
