A spooky teaser prequel of "Pet Sematary"

A simple yet effective adendum to the story told in "Pet Sematary" that works as a prequel of events about the cursed cemetery from Stephen King's classical novel. I haven't seen the remake, only watched the 1989 version and read a decade ago so the memories are quite vague about Jud Crandall's revelations about the place but something tells me this goes beyond any of those three medias even though it makes an excellent connection to everything. As far as I know, it was a teaser made by the remake director in order to present his vision of the movie he was about to shoot.

The great John Lithgow returns as Jud and he tells the story about one dead young man, Timmy Baterman, and how he was one of the first people to have risen from the dead after being buried in that cemetery, all events that happened before "Pet Sematary". So, the concept is a prequel that could actually be turned into a feature film and it could work with great effect.

Here, Mr. Lithgow delivers a monologue telling about how Timmy's sudden return affected the place and the strange events that ocurred ever since. Smoking a cigarette in the woods, all by himself, the idea of horror created comes from the intercut shots of Timmy walking around the exact same place and it's all very spooky and fills everybody with great expectation.

Great teaser and also makes great use of the source King material even though it's expanding things a little. But I'd really like to see this being made into a feature. 8/10.
