Emma Roberts and Evan Peters are well-known for their romance on and off the screen (they frequently costar in American Horror Story together), but it might surprise fans to know that their real-life relationship started on a completely different project. In 2012, just a year after Evan's breakout role on the first season of Ahs, the two worked together on the comedy film Adult World. While Emma was immediately smitten with her costar, Evan didn't catch the love bug until well after they finished filming. "Everyone thought we dated on the movie and we didn't - not for a long time after," Emma revealed on an episode of Chelsea Lately. "I actually, on the set, was like, 'Oh yeah, we're totally gonna date.' And I would, like, flirt with him, which ended up looking like I had something in my eye because I'd be like, 'Hey, what's up?' The stars of yesterday now are making three films a year you never knew existed until they show up on Netflix.^ Real Movie ^
In my prior life as a script reader, I certainly read a lot of bad scripts, but at times, an even more common occurrence was a script that seemed to do a great many things right, but somehow fell just short of being something you wanted to champion as a movie. As draining as the terrible scripts were, there’s something pure about clear-cut bad. It takes little effort to explain why they’re unfit.
The real challenges were the scripts that had kind of a decent premise, kind of an okay twist or two, and a lead character who wasn’t bad so much as he or she was just… there. The raw materials are there for what Could be a script. They just happen to be assembled in the least compelling way...

She’s lived most of her life in the public eye, so Emma Roberts has learned a thing or two about how to handle the spotlight.
On Friday, the actress opened up to People Now about how she’s learned to maintain a certain level of privacy when it comes to more personal aspects of her life, such as relationships.
According to Roberts, 26, it’s extremely important to learn how to be “able to step away from it.”
“I mean, I think it’s all about just really knowing who you are yourself,” she said. “And staying grounded with your family and with your friends.

Not to be confused with Peter Harness' in-development British series, MTV is cooking up its own War Of The Worlds show...
The long-running trope that the “Music Television” nomenclature of MTV is meaningless since the channel rarely plays music videos certainly remains relevant. However, as of late, the “television” portion has been fulfilled with an expansion from their notorious reality programs towards quality scripted television like the sprawling series The Shannara Chronicles. Now, an upcoming project will showcase their contemporary take on the Victorian-era prototype of the original alien invasion story.

Though his breakthrough series’ “Nip/Tuck” and “Glee” have long since left the airwaves, Ryan Murphy still reigns over much of television with “American Horror Story,” “American Crime Story,” which just finished its premiere season about the O.J. Simpson trial, and the satirical horror series “Scream Queens,” about a college campus threatened by a serial killer who targets the members of the Kappa Kappa Tau sorority. The series stars Emma Roberts as Chanel Oberlin, the narcisstic leader of the sorority, as well as Jamie Lee Curtis as Dean Cathy Munsch. Check out the punny new trailer for the series’ second season, featuring new faces like John Stamos (“Full House”) and Taylor Lautner (“Twilight”) walking jauntily with Curtis before coming upon the snarky Roberts and her cohorts Abigail Breslin and Billie Lourd.

John Cusack has made 17 films in four years. We've found the ones that have gone all-but straight to DVD and watched them...
John Cusack is a bit of a Hollywood oddity. There’s no pattern to the type of movie he will choose to do, so he’s always kept us on our toes. Sure, he’ll make a dumb action movie, but that will often afford him the chance to make a few smaller gambles later on. Up until the last few years he’s played the system very well, but recently his ethic appears to have, um, waned? A little?
Since the heady days of Say Anything and Sixteen Candles he’s come to represent a sort of slightly weird-looking, awkwardly charming, offbeat everyman that men aged 18-49 can look at and go 'me'” - which is fine. There’s a place for that, as...

Because the Casting Society of America shifted the date of its Artios Awards, this year’s nominees include films released theatrically from July 1, 2013 to Dec. 31, 2014, paving the way for last year’s Best Picture winner to nuzzle its way into contention along with 2014 hopefuls like "Birdman," "Boyhood," and "Selma." With categories ranging from Big Budget Drama to Low Budget Comedy, nearly every film that one expects to make the cut made the cut. And then some. The Csa’s nominees put "Guardians of the Galaxy" side by side with "Wolf of Wall Street," "Whiplash" with "Inside Llewyn Davis," and Disney’s "Planes" with "Frozen." If you were dreaming of a re-evaluation of "We’re the Millers," your time is now. 2015’s bicoastal Artios Awards will be hosted by Patton Oswalt (Los Angeles) and Michael Urie (New York City). Having spent the holidays on the east coast with her family, Emma Roberts caught a plane to Lax International Airport on Sunday (December 28). The “Adult World” actress hid behind a pair of oversized sunglasses and a striped hat as she scurried through the crowd.

As I said in the intro for our list of the year’s best films, 2014 has been a fantastic year at the movies. There was a lot to love, and that means there were a lot of films that simply didn’t make the cut on our other “Best of 2014″ lists. The fourteen movies below didn’t get much love during the year and failed to make much of a dent at the box-office, but they’re very much worth seeking out on Blu-ray, DVD, Netflix, iTunes or anywhere else unloved movies go to rest. Adult World An idealistic twenty-something and a bitter, washed-up mentor find each other in director Scott Coffey‘s funny and heartfelt ode to the begrudging acceptance of adulthood’s responsibilities. There’s something of a lesser- Wonder Boys feeling to it, but that’s still compliment enough to mark this as a sweet and wise little film. Emma Roberts...

How many more coming-of-age movies does the world need? At this point, I think we are all aware that growing up is hard to do, and that the period of time following college graduation, when one is hovering on the precipice of leaving reckless youth behind to start real life, is one of the most difficult to navigate. Most recently, Lena Dunham parlayed this familiar concept into an entire television series, Girls, which you may have heard of if you have ever read anything on the Internet. Adult World, a comedy directed by Scott Coffey, is the latest installment in this ever-growing pantheon, telling the story of what happens when aspiring poet Amy Anderson (Emma Roberts) is forced to get a job at a local porn shop after college in order to pay off her student loans.

Something I didn’t realise was happening is that Netflix UK and Ireland actually has a blog and what they have been doing on the rare update is providing information on which ISP’s are actually providing the fastest service. For the last couple of months the top two have always been Virgin and BT with BT coming out on top. Surprisingly though this month it’s switched around and Virgin is on top, considering the negative feedback I always hear about them this is very interesting.
If you google ‘Netflix News’ then you can usually find this blog and check the updates because otherwise it’s not the easiest thing to find via the site. It’s not only a good way of checking that you will get a reliable service if you are just starting out but a good way of seeing whether or not it is worth...

Welcome back to This Week In Discs! If you see something you like, click on the title to buy it from Amazon. Hide and Seek Sung-soo is a successful business owner with a perfect family, a gorgeous condo and an enviable life all around. He also has memories of a step brother he essentially abandoned years ago. When he gets word that his brother has gone missing he heads to the man’s apartment and discovers a dangerous mystery. This Korean thriller manages to be far creepier than any “typical” piece of Asian horror as psychopaths will always be scarier than long-haired ghost girls. More than that though the film is directed and edited to near perfection. Sequences thrill, excite and terrify as the story unfolds, and while the script has some major issues they’re easily ignored because everything else works so damn well. From the legitimate twists to the commentary on class warfare and fears...

At just 23, Emma Roberts (“It's Kind of a Funny Story,” “The Art of Getting By,” “Celeste and Jesse Forever”) is about the same age her aunt Julia was when she shot to stardom with the iconic hit “Pretty Woman.” But times have changed, and in Emma’s latest rom-com — Scott Coffey’s “Adult World,” which premiered last year at the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival — she plays not a hooker with a heart of gold, but a virginal Syracuse graduate. Roberts is Amy, a post-collegiate aspiring poet who lives in snowy upstate New York with her parents; what she lacks in life experience she makes up for in pluck and aspiration. Her inability to be self-sufficient will feel familiar to a lot of 20-somethings, as today’s economy has created a state of delayed adulthood; coming-of-age so rarely happens at 18 anymore. When Amy’s parents pull the financial plug on her dreams...

This weekend looks to be one of the weakest in years for new product. With only the non-specialized "Beijing Love Story" (China Lion) reporting grosses among new specialized films, the openers didn't look strong in any case. IFC opened Cannes and New York Film Fest entry "Jimmy P." from veteran French director Arnaud Desplechin in one theater, while their VOD-playing "Adult World," aimed at Valentine's Day audiences opened in two. Other films showed little action. None of these films received any better than consensus average reviews. With awards contenders slackening even more (most head to home viewing venues in upcoming weeks), two foreign language entries, "Gloria" (Roadside Attractions) and the long-run "The Great Beauty" took up some of the slack as they both add to their already impressive (in the subtitled specialized market) grosses. The rest is fairly grim. Opening "Beijing Love Story" (China Lion) - Metacritic: 41 $128,000 in 9 theaters; PSA (per screen average):.
