In addition to filming in the new Coventry Cathedral and in the ruins of the 12th century cathedral, production also filmed in the medieval St. Mary's Guildhall, located next door to the ruins. Interviews were conducted in a room once occupied by Mary, Queen of Scots, and later, William Shakespeare.
Historian David McGrory has published over 20 books on the history of Coventry.
