The title is based upon the biblical parable of the Good Samaritan.
The park where Sally, Amber and John are picnicking was a well-known set used for 1960s Screen Gems/Columbia Pictures TV shows. It is located at the Columbia Ranch (now Warner Bros.), a 32-acre (130,000 m2) movie ranch in Burbank, CA. The park appeared a few times on Bewitched (1964) and its permanent fountain, built around 1935, was seen in the opening credits of Friends (1994).
