Michael Valentino, 27, suffered from multiple gunshot wounds at the 8100 block of Gould Avenue in the Hollywood Hills on March 26, 2014. The LAPD had originally visited the home around 8:05 a.m in response to a domestic battery call. Firth had been working in the UK during the weeks that the disaster unfolded.
The property was built in 1926. It was one of the first homes on the street.
Notable former local residents include actor David Carradine, actress Ursella Andres, and actor Harry Hamlin.
Joseph Spina managed the property from 2010 to 2017. Spina spent a period of four weeks dealing with local contractors, LADOT, LAFD, and Los Angeles' City Engineers and Inspectors during the entire duration of the crisis.
After the property was sold, a series of lawsuits continued for a period of almost three years. This resulted in two successful settlements for the new owner.
