Chloe O'Brian : [Talking privately] why you didn't tell me you were sick?
Jack Bauer : It doesn't matter
Chloe O'Brian : It doesn't matter? I'm your friend
Jack Bauer : We need to stay focused on finding Tony
Chloe O'Brian : Jack, you should be in the hospital
Jack Bauer : There's no treatment: there's no cure
Chloe O'Brian : You're telling me you're dying?
Jack Bauer : Yes
Chloe O'Brian : How long?
Jack Bauer : A day, maybe two. I've been taking this anti seizure medicine to keep me on my feet: it's been working so far
Chloe O'Brian : My God, I'm so sorry
Jack Bauer : [Seeing her becoming upset] it's alright, I've accepted it and I need you to accept it too. Whatever time I've got left, I want it to "matter." We need to find Tony and put an end to this
Jack Bauer : [Holds her hand] we can't do this without you. Please, we need you to go back to work
-
Chloe O'Brian : I just finished the first sweep of the CTU servers: there's been no chatter, no activity at all
Jack Bauer : You updated the watch list?
Chloe O'Brian : Yes, everyone on that is already under surveillance by law enforcement, if one of them was going to do "something", we would know about it
Jack Bauer : Damn it, we're going to have to widen the perimeter
Chloe O'Brian : To include what?
Jack Bauer : Run a check on every Muslim in the Washington DC area: target anyone who's working in a "sensitive government position. We're in a place that "might" get hit and I want you to start pulling the files on every political activist working in the Muslim community
Jack Bauer : [to Renee] I want you to contact the INS. I want a list of every recent immigrant from an Islamic country
Janis Gold : [Overhearing him] excuse me, has anyone heard of "racial profiling"?
Renee Walker : Janis, not now
Jack Bauer : [to Renee] no, she's right
Jack Bauer : [Walks up to Janis] and your right, this is racial profiling and I don't like it anymore than you do but Hodges told me "specifically" he was going to utilize Muslim extremists in an effort to offload the blame for this attack. I need to know who his working with and we're running out of time. I don't know a better way of doing this. so if you do, please let know me now
Jack Bauer : [after Janis doesn't say anything] thank you
-
Chloe O'Brian : [Over the phone, while Renee drives him and Gohar to FBI headquarters] I found something weird about these hits on Jibraan Al-Zarian
Jack Bauer : Go ahead
Chloe O'Brian : You know when I said the two million dollars was deposited into his account over a period of six months? That wasn't right: they were backdated
Jack Bauer : What'd you mean?
Chloe O'Brian : One of the trace algorithms called a discrepancy, all that money was really deposited thirty minutes ago
Jack Bauer : What about the extremist websites he was visiting?
Chloe O'Brian : Same thing with the time stamps: the dates were backdated thirty minutes ago
Jack Bauer : Are you absolutely positive?
Chloe O'Brian : It looks that way, Jibraan could be innocent
Jack Bauer : [before hanging up] ok
Renee Walker : [to Jack] what's going on?
Jack Bauer : Chloe found evidence Jibraan was set up: he was framed
Renee Walker : Why would Almeida frame an innocent man?
Jack Bauer : Because they wouldn't want to risk the attack not being carried out properly, how could I be so stupid? An innocent man is so much easier to control: all they needed was a Muslim, they can create any background they wanted
Jack Bauer : [to Gohar before un-cuffing him] give me your hands
Muhtadi Gohar : I'm surprised
Jack Bauer : Why? You were right
Muhtadi Gohar : About Jibraan, my experience with the authorities is they would go to any lengths not to admit they were wrong, even at the expense of an innocent man's life. At least, you didn't do that
