Have you heard?
This is a featurette on the DVD of Fahrenheit 451 from 1966, and, as you may be able to deduct from the title of it, it deals with the music of said movie. It consists of interviews, behind the scenes photographs and clips of the film, and has a running time of 16 and a half minutes. We are told the story of Bernard Herrmann, specifically what was going on for him in his career at the time(having just been fired by Hitchcock), his thin skin, and the poor crew-member who was forced into the role of courier between director and composer, communicating their various conflicts. It goes into certain pieces of the great and interesting score, and the approach(a sort of hinting at longing/eroticism, with the focus of this desire not being the other people in the environment(as they are empty shells, devoid of intellectual integrity, nothing to offer even if they wished to), but rather the books that everyone are missing, that are so illicit. This is edited well. There is some disturbing content in this, in the material from the motion picture itself(depending on how strong the individual viewer's love of literature is, if you catch my meaning). I recommend this to any fan of the silver screen adaptation and those who helped create it. 7/10
