Exclusive: Mark Pellegrino, known for series including Supernatural, 13 Reasons Why and American Rust, has been set to star in dramedy series A Motel.
Brian A. Metcalf (Underdeveloped) is behind the show about a group of outcasts working at a seedy motel who find themselves in danger when they accidentally uncover a drug smuggling plot for the mafia. Additional casting is being finalised.
The series is written and executive-produced by Metcalf, who will serve as showrunner, director and actor. Asif Akbar and Kelly Arjen will also executive-produce with Akbar directing some of the episodes. Pellegrino will serve as co-executive producer.
Filming begins next month in Las Vegas on the six-episode project, which doesn’t currently have a network aboard and is being independently financed by the producers. The plan is to sell it after production.
Akbar recently directed the crime-thriller Boneyard starring Mel Gibson and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, which is releasing this July from Lionsgate.

Here we go again. In recent years, Mel Gibson’s found himself stuck in a never-ending series of Dtv-style action thrillers, similar to the kind of fare Bruce Willis churned out before his retirement. Along with his contemporaries like John Travolta, John Cusack and many others, Gibson seems totally stuck in a rut, with virtually all of these films (most of which he only has minor roles in) going totally unnoticed. Has anyone seen Panama, Agent Game, On the Line, Confidential Informant, Desperation Road, Dangerous or Force of Nature? There have been some bright spots, such as the solid Bandit (a movie he was proud of when I interviewed him) or Fatman, but for the most part, Gibson’s career as an actor in mainstream movies seems limited to this kind of fare, which is a shame.
Nevertheless, he’s still out there cranking out VOD movies, with Boneyard being the latest.

"So it could be anyone?" Lionsgate has revealed an official trailer for an action thriller / serial killer mystery title Boneyard, which is being dumped on VOD this July if anyone wants to watch. The title card in the trailer even says this movie is "inspired by true crime stories" which probably means this script went into production because they wanted to capitalize on the obsession with true crime right now. When the remains of women are discovered in the New Mexico desert, an extensive investigation is launched. Inspired by true crime stories, this chilling crime-thriller follows detectives on a hunt for the killer. As each of their agendas and methods clash, a tangled web of intrigue casts suspicion in all directions. As usual. The film stars Brian Van Holt, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, Nora Zehetner, Michael Sirow, Spice Williams-Crosby, Weston Cage, Gabrielle Haugh, and Mel Gibson. This looks exceptionally generic and derivative,...

It used to be that you could find 50 Cent in da club with a bottle full of bub’. Now, you can find 50 Cent on a poster for The Expendables 4, looking like the sort of hack Photoshop job that we’ve all gotten used to – all of us except Curtin Jackson, that is.
After seeing his character poster for The Expendables 4, 50 Cent took to social media, posting on Instagram, “Wtf did we run out of money? Why my head look like it ain’t connected to my body. I bet they are gonna make @officialslystallone look great. Smh” Taking a look at the slew of character posters, yeah, Stallone does look pretty badass…We wouldn’t mind hearing from Megan Fox on the matter, though…

Mel Gibson and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson are ready to show the world they’re bad to the bone with Boneyard. Sorry, I couldn’t resist. The duo’s true crime thriller project is heading to the Cannes market, with Lionsgate leading the charge for another hot silver-screen serial killer story. Boneyard is currently in production with Asif Akbar (The Commando) directing from a script he co-wrote with Vincent E. McDaniel, Hank Byrd, and Koji Steven Sakai from a story by McDaniel. Colin Bates, Vincent E. McDaniel, Asif Akbar, and Roy Scott Macfarland produce.
According to Deadline, Boneyard revolves around FBI Special Agent Petrovick (Gibson), who “is recruited to profile the serial killer responsible for the infamous “boneyard” killings, after Police Chief Carter (Jackson) discovers the remains of eleven women. As the police force, narcotics agency, and FBI lock horns, a tangled web of intrigue turns everyone into a suspect.” If this story sounds familiar,...

The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Asif Akbar (The Commando) is directing the film and crafted the screenplay with Hank Byrd, Vincent E. McDaniel, and Koji Steven Sakai.
Said to be inspired by true events, Boneyard sees Gibson taking on the role of an FBI special agent who, along with the Albuquerque police department, is hunting for a serial killer nicknamed The Bone Collector. The chief of police and one of his officers, however, have a contrary view of the manhunt, believing someone in their own department may be the killer.
