A one hour documentary of the Dahomey tribe narrated by Lupita Nyong'o as she travels to Benin to discover the story of the Agojie women warriors. The first 45 minutes are what you'd expect, the last 15 minutes will blow those expectations away. Ms Nyong'o finds some survivors of the Dahomey's reign and they tell the truth about the horrors inflicted on the neighboring tribes by the Agojie. A little research provides the wider picture. The Dahomey enslaved more Africans than any other tribe, and sold those slaves to the West. Displayed some truly horrific bloodletting along the way.
The Woman King is basically Birth of A Nation for the woke audience. But totally, laughably bogus as history. Viola Davis wants your money and is willing to shame you for it. Don't be fooled. Watch this documentary--available on Youtube, instead.
