Patty and Richard have a fight over his spending time with another girl. They call off their date for the upcoming dance. Patty is afraid of losing him. She spots a dazzling dress in a newspaper ad but can't get the money out of her father. Patty devises to raise the money through "an organization for babysitting", getting a commission from babysitters in exchange for securing jobs for them. She talks Richard into joining her in establishing Doctor's Babysitting Agency, since she once sat for a doctor's child. They go to a nice apartment building to recruit. While explaining their services to Mrs. Gresham (Susan Strong) her husband (Chet Leming) comes into the room explaining how the tenants need to fight their landlord's actions at a meeting that evening. Mrs. Gresham asks if they will babysit their son Edmund (John Woodstock), as well needing five other sitters for the other tenants. Patty and Richard tackle all the babysitting jobs there themselves, with a host of problems.
