Much needed episode
brendanpzz10 February 2020
This episode was needed as it need to Tie up the loose end with his mother. The action is the winner here was very well shot and the action was better than most episodes. It gave me black hawk down chills at the end though playing the music from the end of the film in the best way it could made hairs stand up on end. And just loved how danny was there for him in the end and that good old danno and mcgarret love we fans all love to lighten the mood.

Steve Must Get To His Mother Who Has Gone Rogue
shelbythuylinh1 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
As really Doris has really hurt Steve and broken every single promise there to him and broke his heart. But being the kind of man he is despite his control issues and being domineering will do the right thing.

CIA urges that he go alone and that it is to remain undetected as to not compromise national security but that Steve and Doris may not make it out in one piece.

As Junior goes and helps his other SEAL mates as they fear Steve may not make it out in time but that he would not leave without Doris.

It will be very heartbreaking as the rest of the team are ordered by the CIA there to stay behind. Really wished they could had gone.

Much Needed Ending
susannienhuis9 December 2020
The storyline with Doris, Steve's mother, really needed to be tidied up and it's great that it was Steve's portrayer, Alex O'Loughlin, who wrote and directed the episode. Writing this after knowing the series ended after this season, and knowing HOW it ended, it's especially moving. Steve lost a lot of family during his 10 years back in Hawaii beginning with his father and ending with his mother. He's also recently lost his Aunt Deb and his surrogate father, Joe White. He only has his sister and her adopted daughter, Joanie. Poor Steve had to grieve his mother's death twice: once as a young boy and once as an adult. Danny has become a surrogate brother to him, just as Steve became Danny's surrogate brother after his own brother's murder.

This show has been great since day one and should have gotten more critical attention for its acting, especially Alex's acting. He does comedy and drama with ease. I'm already missing my Five-0 Friday dates with Steve and Danno. Thanks for 10 years of exceptional television. Mahalo.

Some people are so self conscious that it is not right for the actors and all the people that are working for this series.if you don't like it don't watch it.

One of the best episodes ever!

Warning: Spoilers
Kudos to all for this poignant episode, and the magnificent music at the time of a hard moment for Steve - Monasterium. Best version on YouTube called Gortoz A Ran by Denez Prigent and Lisa Gerrard, although the version in the show was by Giulio Franceschelli. I sure hope there is a season 11. To sum this up, Doris has gone rogue. Any more would give it away. If you are a fan of the show, be sure to see this one.

One of the best episodes
antjekreutz28 April 2022
This was a much needed episode to tie up the loose ends regarding McGarrett´s relationship with his mother. This episode was highly emotional with the perfect balance of great story, good action and emotions. This combined with good directing by the main actor Alex O'Loughlin who did a great job made that episode truely remarkable. One of the best episodes of Hawaii 5 O.

Why do other countries always have the dark, bleak color? And US always have bright, blue color.

Like they try to say other countries are terrible, pathetic.

Answers some questions about Doris McGarrett
julieact7 April 2023
Full disclosure, I've never liked the character of Doris McGarrett. A lot of information about her has just never made a lot of sense to me. This episode finally clears up most of the questions you will have had about her as a long time viewer. Personally, I came out of this episode liking her less than I did before. She spent so many years away from her family working for the CIA and when she "comes back from the dead", she then went away over and over again instead of staying in Hawaii and having a relationship with the children she had to abandon while working for "The Company". It's no wonder at all that Steve was always trying to make a family, first with the Navy and then with Five-0.

Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead
cybrink12 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I feel that this has to be one of the most poorly written H50 episodes yet. I'm so tired of these clandestine jaunts. This is the same stuff that's killing the NCIS LA franchise. Keep it real! The CIA, FBI, DEA, FDA, whatever, assignments are too much. Now Doris is dead, FINALLY! Now get back to domestic crime fighting!

The Exposition
Nuri_B11 November 2019
Half the dialogue in this episode is made up of exposition.

McGarrett: Exposition, exposition, exposition but exposition. Junior: But why? McGarrett: Exposition, Junior. All right? Junior: So, you're saying exposition, exposition, exposition? McGarrett: No, I just told you! Exposition, exposition, exposition but exposition. Danny Uh... Exposition?

You get it. Take some script writing classes, guys.

Cheap and fake spy episode
grlym-4684912 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Hoping with the death of all his super spy family, the show will stick to being a cop show.

Mcgarretts character is so overdone and fake, that I wish he was replaced. The cia and other spy plots are lame. They cheapen those gov dept's that only an ex navy seal can do the job. He is my least favorite character due to how over the top super ego the show makes him

Ever more ludicrous
atmacg-5914710 February 2020
This programme staggers from one ridiculous scenario to another, each series worse than the one before & taking in every cliche on the way but it has reached new heights of ludicrousness with Danny's haircut. WTAF?

So once again...
tonycarr5 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
McGarratt just ups and goes to another country. Doesn't the state of Hawaii ever get fed up with paying for the 5-0 task force when they aren't actually doing anything in Hawaii.

Not surprising they have pulled the plug

Even by 5O standards this is bad. Keep the 'stars' away from the Directors chair!!!
keithfmanaton2 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Grief this was the dumbest most self conscience episode. When Stevie boy plays rogue 007 things always get silly. It would have been better if they'd brought Mummy home to bake biscuits and settle down with a nice old Admiral or General and play with the grandkids. This must hold the record for pensive, lingering & poorly executed pauses with clumsy dialogue of any drama, beating even NCIS. Although it can't top NCIS for blatant sugar coated nationalism. Can't believe the producers let this through. I suppose they felt that the franchise was ending & rating were dropping anyway so "what the hell".

Stick to acting, bud
briginsh18 June 2021
This episode sucked. Seems like some scenes had been deleted and others shot or re-shot at the end. So was his mom a crook (bank accounts) or not (she put the bugs in the car)?

Also a "weapons cache" is pronounced "weapons cash" not freaking "cashay" !! (Cachet, pronounced cashay, means something completely different!). This error was repeated 3 times which suggests that Alex o loughlin may have skipped out on a few English classes, which you might think could have been useful for a script writer... Sheesh.
