- At a library, Tommy goes in and shoots the workers in his way dead. He finds a professor, John Carr, working and tells him to hush.
Kate drives to Reagan's apartment, breaks in, and demands where the journal is. Reagan says that it wasn't all BS, and she admits that she slept with Kate and stole the journal. However, she insists that it wasn't all BS. She gets why Kate hates her, and finally says that she gave her sister Margot, aka Magpie. The journal let Magpie buy her freedom out of Arkham, but doesn't know who Magpie gave the journal to. Reagan says that that she told Julia already.
At Arkham, Mouse is still posting as Dr. Butler. He goes to the ECT room where Alice and Tommy are torturing Carr. Mouse removes his Butler mask and Carr says that Lucius coding is South American. When Mouse suggests that Alice just shoots Kate, Alice says that Kate deserves to know how is going to kill her. Tommy tells Carr to concentrate, and Carr begs them to let him go as Alice hits him with more electricity until Carr dies.
Alice wants to bring Luke in to have him decipher his father's encryption, but Mouse warns that it could involve Batwoman. Mouse points out that they already have their "Wonderland", but Alice insists that she wants Batwoman dead. However, she tells Mouse that she hates to see him fret, and tells him to put his Butler face back on and escort Tommy out.
The next morning, Vesper is on the radio talking about how the GCPD have coined the masked killer "Hush". Kate confronts Julia at the Crows HQ and asks why she wants the journal. Julia avoids the question, and Sophie joins them and tells Julia that Jacob called a briefing. Julia goes with Sophie to the meeting room, and Jacob says that Tony Kim, an undercover NSA agent, was abducted. Security also found Carr's corpse in a dumpster, Sophie adds that they have footage confirming that Hush abducted Kim, and Jacob tells his men to find Kim and Hush.
At the tower, Kate tells Luke and Mary that Julia is looking for the journal. Luke insists that he's known Julia since they were children and he trusts her. They argue about whether Julia can be trusted, and Luke walks out. Mary suggests that it would be easier to find the journal with Luke's hope, and both women get a security alert about Kim's kidnapping. Mary remembers that in college, Carr had Kim as a replacement teacher. They both taught Cryptography, and they figure Hush is kidnapping codebreakers because he has the journal and wants to obtain the deadliest weapons in Gotham.
Hush returns to Arkham, and prepares to ECT Kim. Alice shows Kim the journal, and tortures him dead when he can't help. Alice complains that they keep disappointing her. Mouse says that the more people they kidnap, the more they risk exposure. Hush says that he's a freak, and Mouse attacks Hush until Alice tells them to find her someone else. Mouse points out that every codebreaker is in lockdown, and Alice says that there's one who isn't.
Hush abducts Parker Torres from Somerset as she talks on the phone to her girlfriend, Gina.
Kate and Mary go over the reports of Carr's corpse, and Kate suggests that they trace Carr's pacemaker to learn where he died. However, neither of them know how, and May suggest that Kate apologize. Gina calls and tells Kate about Parker's abduction.
That night, Hash draws Kate through the streets. She says that she's been kidnapped by first and figures Hush can't kill her. Batwoman drives to Somerset, and Mary spots Hush's van and sends his coordinates to Batwoman. However, she doesn't know how to run the computer and sends her the wrong way down a one way. She finds the van and the two play chicken, and Batwoman swerves, anchors her Batcycle, and then snags the van, bringing it to a halt.
Hush comes out and opens fire, and Batwoman disarms him with Batarangs then throws one into his leg. When a passing car stops, Hush throws out the driver and escapes. He returns to Arkham and tells Alice points out that he failed to get Parker. Hush says that Batwoman, showed, and Mouse worries that Batwoman followed Hush there. Alice asks if they're finally ready to do things her way.
Sophie tells Julia that they have a Hugh sighting. Luke comes in and Julia talks to him privately, telling Sophie to go on ahead. Luke says that he did some digging and learned that Julia isn't supposed to be there.
An unmasked Kate takes Parker to the Batcave, and Mary is there and suggests that it's a bad idea.. Parker complains that Hush got away, and Mary tells Kate to apologize to Luke and get him back.
Julia tells Luke that she was doing some freelancing. Luke doesn't believe her story, and Julia says that they wouldn't be there talking if she told Luke who wanted the journal. Kate calls Luke and says that she's on her way. Once Luke hangs up, Luke asks Julia if she's going to tell Kate or he is.
Sophie goes to see Jacob and tells him that Hugh was at the later shooting. Jacob doesn't want to wait around to find out what masked freak is going to get people killed.
Julia says Kate can't know about her real intentions, and that there are things about Kate that Luke doesn't know. Hush arrives, abducts both of them, and takes them to Arkham. Mouse reveals that he impersonated Kate's voice . Alice threatens to kill Julia, and Luke says that there's no way he can decipher Lucius' journal in less than a week.
At the Batcave, Kate gets Luke's voicemail and wonders why he isn't calling her back. Sophie arrives in the office, and Kate goes up to see her. Kate's former lover asks if Kate has seen Julia. Mary and Parker watch on the surveillance cameras, and Mary admits that Sophie and Julia are Kate's exs. Meanwhile, Sophie asks if her relationship with Julia is okay. Kate says that Sophie should do whatever makes Sophie happy, and says that she'll tell Julia to check in with Sophie if she calls. Sophie says that Luke was with Julia when Julia disappeared, Kate, Parker, and Mary all pick up on it.
Hugh electrocutes Alice, and Luke begs him to stop. Julia isn't dead yet, and Hush tells Julia that he's not sure how much more she can take. Luke says that he needs to space to figure out the code, and Hush agrees but says that if Luke is lying, he'll kill Julia before walking out. Once they're alone, Julia asks Luke if he can do it. Luke looks at the pages of code and says that heeds more time and Lucius. She assures him that he's every bit as smart as Lucius, and Luke insists that he's not even close and they're both going do die because of it.
In Butler's office, Mouse wonders why they're keeping Tommy alive. Alice says that Tommy has spent over a decade trying to kill Batman, and once she obtains the rail gun, then they'll kill Tommy. Mouse/Butler goes to group therapy.
Parker tries to track the pacemaker, and Mary asks Kate why a random teen gets to know why Kate is Batwoman.
Luke starts to decipher the code but warns and thinks out loud. He needs to figure out the number sequence, and figures that Lucius w3ould have never used a random sequence and that Lucius used his Social Security Number,
Parker hacks the computer of the pacemaker manufacturer, and says that she has to proceed slowly. Mary goes through Lucius' belongings and finds a pair of his glasses. She discovers that they have a computer built in that translates the journal. Kate puts them on and realizes that the journals need the glasses to decode them.
Luke deciphers the journal and Julia realizes that he's succeeded. He tells her that he can't reveal the contents to anyone. Alice and Hush come in and Julia says that they're not telling her. Alice asks Luke if he agrees, and he says that Lucius was willing to die for the journal's secrets and so are they.
Mary confirms that Carr was at Arkham when he died, and Kate figures that Alice wasn't involved. She dons her Batwoman costume, breaks into Arkham, and takes out two guards. She then uses a sonic device to home in on the electricity from the ECT,
Jacob gets word of Batwoman's break-in and sends his men there.
Alice tortures Julia, then stops and tells Luke to reveal the code. Luke refuses, and Batwoman breaks in and takes out the ECT with a Batarang. Hush draws his gun, and Alice points out that Batwoman is outnumbered. Batwoman offers Alice 5the glasses in return fo4r Luke and Julia, and Luke says that the journal contains the secret to killing Batwoman. Despite that, Batwoman tells Alice that her offer stands. Alice takes the glasses, puts them on, and looks on the glasses to confirm they work. She tells Hugh to let them go.
Batwoman guides Luke and Julia to the escape, while she goes back and gets the journal. A guard spots her and sets off an alarm. Alice and Hush hear it, and Hush figures that their cover is blown. Alice tells him to escape, and once Hush leaves in Mouse/Butler comes in. Alice releases the prisoners despite Mouse's protestations, and they head to the main room, attacking the guards.
In the main room, Batwoman finds the inmates attacking the guards and attacks the inmates. A fire breaks out and Mouse tries to put it out. Alice tells him that the life they've build is over, pulls off his Butler mask, tosses it into the flames, and leads him out.
Jacob and his Crows arrive, and Batwoman sees them and runs out. Meanwhile Jacob tells his men to lack Arkham down and find him Batwoman.
Later at the tower, Kate arrives and finds Luke waiting. He says that he's not worth all the lives that Alice might take, and Kate hugs him and says that he was lost without her. Parker comes in and Kate thanks her for her help. The teen tells Kate to fight a little harder for Sophie and leave.
In her office, Sophie is working and then meets Julia. Julia says that she has some nerve damage in her arm, and Sophie takes her hand. They kiss and Sophie says that she's glad Julia is okay. Kate comes in, sees them kissing, and says that it looks like a bad time. Sophie excuses herself and Kate tells Julia that Luke told her everything. Julia says that the Rifle showed up in Gotham to kill her, and Julia followed him to his boss. Julia then made a deal with the boss, that she'd get her the journal if she didn't keep trying to kill Batwoman. The former agent admits that the boss, Safiyah Sohail, played her and the deal if off. She figures that Safiyah will come after both of them since Julia double-crossed her.
Jacob activates the Bat Signal, and Batwoman arrive. He says that psychotic inmates are all over the city because of Gotham, and figures that Alice needs Batwoman like Joker needed Batman. Batwoman refuses to back down, and Jacob tells her tha5t if he sees her again, it will be worse.
Mouse and Alice lurk in the sewers, and Alice says that Luke brought them the answers that they need. When Mouse says that he was happy, he asks if Alice is happy that she burned the whole thing down. Alice says that she cares about killing Batwoman, and tells Mouse to find Hush so he can tell her where to find a piece of Kryptonite.
