A Fun, Thoughtful Summer Flick
stephenmn141 July 2008
In a movie season filled with typical blockbuster fare, Radio Cape Cod provides a welcome change of pace to the summer movie lineup. Slow moving, filmed with artistic style, and plenty of humor, the film is a love story at heart. But the role of love is what separates this movie from other generic romances. Through a carefully planned, well executed combination of visually striking cinematography and likable, innocent characters, the movie proposes that love should unite not only people to each other, but people to nature. And for the most part, it works. Talk of science and "slow food" add some dimension to the story, while the pace moves quickly enough so that none of the four romances lingers too long. If you're looking for realism, plot twists, and intensity, search elsewhere. If you're looking for a refreshing spin on love, set to the backdrop of some eye opening, natural Cape Cod scenery, then this film surely deserves a look. Its quiet sense of hope and happiness will leave you feeling good about the world in which we live, where love still conquers all.

Alternative, Attractive, Artistic

I saw this movie the other day and was impressed mostly by the cinematography. I'm a big movie buff, and although Radio Cape Cod doesn't focus on story so much as scenery, I still think it works as the type of movie that it is (scenic, ambiguous, left open for personal interpretation). Overall well shot, well acted, well edited. Compared to more mainstream titles, Radio Cape Cod has a lack of sex and violence. On the other hand, there are certainly a good amount of comedic moments throughout. The movie has a European feel to it, slower moving and softer light. I would recommend this highly to anyone looking for a cinematic change of pace, and beautiful cinematography.

A cute romance
barbicane69-123 January 2008
This film gives us a look at four couples of various ages. One couple is in love, two are falling in love and one couple are divorced but still hanging out together. The setting is beautiful - Cape Cod. The cinematography is gorgeous. I appreciated that the dialogue is of an intellectual quality. It fits because the main characters are scientists. The central couple are in their early 30s. There is also a teenage couple dealing with the question "Is it love or just friendship?" There is not a lot of action, but there are laughs, and it's a pleasure to hear dialogue that doesn't insult your intelligence. There is an overall sweetness to this film that I think you'll enjoy.

Cape Cod's emotions

Radio Cape Code is a breathtaking movie which brings to life 4 different love stories in the wonderful scenario of Cape Cod. The connection that the spectator can feel with nature and the summer time is awesome. The dialog among the protagonists is at the same time very profound and funny. Moreover, Radio Cape Code is the kind of movie that can teach you something very important in life: to enjoy the moment, even if maybe it is going to end like the summer. To enjoy the moment and listen to your heart and be honest to the people you love. Love pervades the entire movie and let you realize which role love plays in our ordinary life.

Beautiful to watch ... Thoughtful, intelligent, and refreshing

Of course living in the area, I admit to being a little bit prejudiced, but Mr. Silver's use of natural light, the leisurely pace of the movie, the sense that we are seeing real people dealing with real situations, delighted me. That the movie doesn't "go somewhere" feels true to life.

After all, other than death, there ARE no "endings" in life. We just go on, continue, stuff happens and we roll with it. The movie doesn't resolve into a Hollywood finale ... which is fine with me.

For those who must have a cinematic moment of "closure," this isn't the movie for them, but if you enjoy a movie stroll with people whose lives remind us of our own, this is a lovely, romantic interlude in a simply gorgeous setting. I loved it.

Excellent movie. Music and cinematography wonderful.

Enjoyed the movie screenplay and the acting was excellent.

Director Andrew Silver truly captures the essence of Cape cod in this production.

All parts played well and too bad there are not more movies like this that showcase human relationships without the violence and bad language.

The location and the lighting along with the music provided a Good Feeling along with the dialog.

The only other Movies that I feel are comparable are Movies found on channels such as Hallmark.

I highly recommend this film for all ages.

A truly inspirational film about life and love- beautiful
dragonfly6128 June 2008
At first it seems like Radio Cape Cod uses the natural beauty of the planet as a backdrop for the film. After several minutes you realize that the ocean, sky, and pristine beaches of Cape Cod are actually much more than scenery. From the theater camp scenes where students are learning about human energy, to the ocean waves dancing with each sunrise and sunset, you truly get the feeling that the environment is actually a character in the film. As the relationships unfold, so do the ocean waves. It is not often that we see such a remarkable perspective about every day life. The cinematography in this film was outstanding and the actors were so natural, that at times I forgot I was watching a film and felt like I was right there with them. The cast of this film delivers outstanding performances, from the middle aged female scientist to the teenage couple who were experiencing their first relationship. Oh, - and the music was phenomenal. It is not often that a film takes you completely away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and transports you to a world that is soothing, peaceful, and full of possibility. I was truly inspired. Don't miss this film. It is wonderful.

May it happen for you

Radio Cape Cod is an uplifting summer film that focuses on the importance of relationships and harmony with one's environment. The story follows a quartet of couples over the course of five days, and beautifully illustrates how their respective relationships blossom over time. Each character has his/her own idiosyncrasies, which make them easy to relate to, as if they're your friend from down the street, or someone you knew in junior high.

Enough praise cannot be given for the cinematography in this film. The seas surrounding Cape Cod come alive with the playfulness of the waves, and the skies, alight with sunshine, smile from behind wispy clouds. Wonderful attention was given to the score as well, and the entire film has a tremendously warm feeling of a summer in love. Julian Silver is definitely an up-and-coming young actor to watch for over the next few years.

Well done!
