Victoria Price remembers her father

I always think that hosted shows that run old films are good company for people who usually watch movies on their own. In a way shows like 'Creature Features' give private people a shared viewing experience as their hosts and their guests talk about the film that has been selected. So if you want to watch a Vincent Price gaslighter classic in the company of his daughter Victoria here's your chance. I like 'Shock' (1946) with VP showing early signs of his menace as a psychiatrist who is in "need of professional help himself." Chief host Vincent Van Dahl makes witty observations like that one and he is assisted by the speechless elfin Tangella and the cantankerous stuffy Mr Livingston. Guest Victoria gives some details of having Vincent Price as a father. Her early memories include watching him play Captain Hook in a stage production of 'Peter Pan' in LA. Her young child mind at the time had trouble recognising her joy-filled father being so evil and villainous on stage and insisted on checking on his hooked hand backstage. She is witty as she playfully does a put down of the 'Creature Features' show and describe the "perfect courtship" of Vincent with Coral Browne during the making of 'Theater of Blood' (1973) together. She now quotes her father on her inspirational lectures on her extensive tours. The subtitles on 'Creature Features' goes haywire at times in their attempt to match the phonetics of the dialogue which adds further fun to this my favorite of hosted shows.
