Pretty good show!
Jess042626 February 2021
This is not a show I watch on a regular basis, but I have now seen seven episodes. It's not something I'm personally interested in, but the plots are original and they do a good job with them. It's also got good comedy. As I support everything and I want everything to be a success even if I'm not a fan of something, I am glad people enjoy this show.

Now some things that I personally think this show is not perfect with, is that the art style is nothing beautiful in my opinion. They definitely could have done better with it, something about it looks weird to me. What I mostly notice about it that I'm not a fan of is that their noses are little pink circles which looks weird to me. And second, all the characters seem to heavily lack personality to me. Rosario and Yvette's characters sound very uninterested when talking and I don't know why that is. And Annie's friends all don't seem to have personalities of their own either.

Anyways, I'm very happy for Ant Blades and that his idea got pitched. I think everyone should definitely check out this show, even if it doesn't look interesting to you you should give it a chance. I wasn't a fan but maybe you will be.

It's Ok
oazxe18 March 2020
I'm rereading some of my original reviews and I realized I sound too much like a yes-man in this one so I'm fixing it.

It's Pony is fine. That's about it. Nothing special.

Original review: It's Not Just Pony. Its Something Special "Nickelodeon has finally shined some light onto us with It's Pony. This show breaks some of the cliches I see with Nickelodeon only to revive them later. This show is wildly unpredictable and I like it. I can also find it relatable and laugh at it. Pony and Annie have one of the greatest duo dynamics on Nick. Nick, please don't shaft it."

An okay show
elonmusk-is_a_moron30 April 2022
This show is okay. Its cute and wholesome, even if the main character (I am talking about the pony, not the girl) could be a little bit annoying sometimes.

Sure hope Nickelodeon doesn't screw this one up...
keylonrocks735621 January 2020
After a decade where new Nicktoons range from memorable (Korra, Harvey Beaks, The Loud House, TMNT) to good (T.U.F.F Puppy, Penguins of Madagascar, Welcome to the Wayne, Rise of the TMNT) to meh (Robot and Monster, Bunsen Is a Beast) to just plain stale (Breadwinners, Sanjay and Craig, Fanboy and Chum Chum, Pig Goat Banana Cricket, Planet Sheen), Nickelodeon has made a show that feels like nostalgia. It feels like one of those Saturday morning cartoons from the 1990s and early 2000s -- you wake up, still in your PJs, and eat sugary cereal while you watch cartoons all morning. It also has that fresh, old Nicktoon smell.

And that show would be It's Pony. It's a hilarious thrillride and an adorable cartoon. I loved the titular Pony: he's unpredictable, gives me a chuckle and got me smiling. And you gotta root for Annie; she's an adorable girl who helps Pony with his problems. I laughed when that episode on plants was uploaded to YouTube. It's like Hey Arnold and Doug mixed with Big City Greens. It's not the next My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, but it is visually fun and easy on the eyes.

While there are two other cartoons that would rival It's Pony (there's also one more, but we don't talk about reboots), this is a show that I recommend to watch.

Sure hope Nickelodeon would give this show more love, effort and high ratings put into it. I'm worried this show would be banished to the Nicktoons network, like those other poor shows, but still, with Brian Robbins in charge at Nick, the show will never be plagued by stuff like that. Anyway, I'm giving this show praise for having good jokes and cute, fun visuals. And after airing nothing but SpongeBob SquarePants and The Loud House, this is a new show I think Nickelodeon can't reject...a nice breath of fresh air.

Good to see a show that's not either one. Support by watching new episodes of this awesome show to earn better ratings!

He's a funny loving pony!
nobiean20 January 2020
Just like the theme song says, "He's a funny loving pony"! It's Pony is a beautifully animated series and very eye-catching. The voices are great, the story is cute, and the gags are funny! An original series that deserves more attention!

My Little Imbecile -.-
a34trgv13 March 2023
Nickelodeon kicked off the new decade with a brand new Nicktoon. It's Pony promise funny shenanigans with a girl and her talking pony. What it delivers, though, is a badly made cartoon that fails to do its premise justice. From the awful writing to the unlikable characters, this pony can't even do its one trick without falling over himself.

Created by Ant Blades, It's Pony centers on a girl and her talking pony going on misadventures togther. This is a really unique premise as it's not every day you see a show with a kid and a talking horse. Too bad this show's writing is a great example of what NOT to do with this premise! Instead of exploring the world, showing how Pony got to talk and show casing unique plots to each episode, this show just have very tired and predictable plots, no origin story and no other examples of talking animals besides Pony. This. Is. UNACCEPTABLE! Like with The Hollow, It's Pony's lack of showing and unique plots kills interest in the show and makes it an utter slog to sit through. We've seen the "character distracting the main character" "fixing something that was never broken" and "character growing attatched to an inanimate object" plots so many times and done so much better than in this show. Wouldn't it be fun if Pony had to fear of plants (biophobia) at camp and end up fighting a bear? Well too bad because the characters stay in the generic city where nothing even close to as exciting as that happens! The biggest short coming of this show, though, is it's painfully unfunny. None of the slapstick, puns or obvious subversions land and Pony being stupid is not funny once. This show's writing is so bad it would make an actual horse cringe.

It's telling that none of the characters are remotely interesting. Starting with the main character, Annie is just a basic kid who lacks a unique personality to make her stand out. She mostly just goes through the motions of what's expected in these types of shows and never becomes interesting or funny. Her pony, Pony (great name Annie, did it take you all day to give him such a unique name?), is just a stupid animal who can talk but never shuts up. He's nosey, he's rude, he never thinks before he acts and he always gets Annie into trouble. Are you tired of seeing bad friends in cartoons?! I know I am! Annie's parents, George and Helen, are just typical, underdeveloped parents with George not liking Pony (for just reasons) and Helen focusing her attention more on the business than her daughter. Beatrice is annoying, Brian's a wimp, Heston pretend to be cool but really isn't, Clara's just there to fill space, Gerry's an axious nerd and Henrietta is a blonde deadpan goth girl who's always negative (*cough* Mandy from Billy & Mandy *cough*).

The voice acting is fine, but nothing about the actor's performances particularly stand out. Jessica DiCicco is alright as Annie, but she doesn't sound as excited or carefree as I would hope. Josh Zuckerman wasn't very good as Pony as he just lacked the enthusiasm and honesty that Pony needed to be memorable. Abe Benrubi and India de Beaufort were fine as Annie's parents, though they sounded rather bored in some scenes. Megan Hitly's performance as Beatrice was alright, though it could've used less shouting and more honesty. Josh Keaton makes for good teenager, but not a 9 year old like Heston. Ditto Noshir Dalal as Gerry. Grey Griffin's always a treat to hear, even if her performance as Henrietta was as derivative as her character. While the acting's not terrible, it needed much better direction.

The best that can be said about the show is that it has good animation. Blue-Zoo Animation brought Ant Blades style to life in a very appealing way. The characters have a bold outline, big eyes and skinny limbs for a wide range of movements. The characters also have stylish clothes and detailed textures in their hair. The character animation is smooth with characters having unique walk cycles and bouncy hair when they move. The backgrounds are also very well detailed, especially the park with all the trees, flowers and wildlife. My one critique with the animation, though, is that the buildings look kinda flat in some shots, making it look like this city is made of cardboard.

This horse isn't even good enough to be turn into glue. It's Pony is another bad case of concept over execution. Its unique premise and good animation are laid to waste with terrible writing, dull and unlikable characters, nonexistent humor and passable at best voice acting. If you want a good show about a girl and their exceptional pet, watch Clifford The Big Red Dog. Be it the 2000s show or the recent incarnation on Amazon, you'll have a much better time with a big red dog than this no trick pony -.-

Finally, an original Nicktoon
BoxwoodExpress19 January 2020
It's not My Little Pony, this is It's Pony. This is Its Pony, first impressions.

Nickelodeon is in desperate need of more original ideas. Their last original animated show was Welcome to the Wayne, which failed and was banished to Nicktoons because Vailskibum94 said it was similar to Gravity Falls, which it wasn't. The cartoons that have premiered since then, Rise of the TMNT and The Casagrandes, while they are good, aren't original ideas since they're based on already existing properties. Spongebob has been getting better, but The Loud House went to garbage after Kings of the Con.

It's Pony is a breath of fresh air. While it doesn't have fast-pacing or a compelling story arc, it manages to tell a sweet slice-of-life story in its own gentle way.

Annie and Pony are both likable characters that work off each other pretty well. Pony stands out since he has an irrational fear of stuff like bubbles/balloons and plants, and can get pretty nosy, but Annie still loves him, and also serves as his conscience.

There's also some good comedy, like when Pony breaks the TV in "Plants!", I nearly died laughing. It's better than the "Lol random" humor in shows like RBUK, modern Fairly OddParents, or Bunsen is a Beast. It's also better than the mean-spirited, toilet humor of Alvin and the Chipmunks. This is because it's actually smart, and when the show does have toilet humor, like in "Beatrice", where Pony farts, it's kept at a minimum.

Please support the show, we need it to be a success and to get high ratings.

It's Perfect, It's Swell, It's Pony!
nasdagoodshepherd18 January 2020
Nickelodeon has been well...a mixed bag throughout the last decade, but there is one that made 2020's Nickelodeon starts off so well and that's It's Pony. The show features a show about a pony named..."Pony" goes on adventures with his human friend, Annie. The animation is rather good and the writing is very decent. Finally, Nick has yet released a new Nicktoon that isn't as annoying, disgusting and stupid as Sanjay and Craig, Planet Sheen, Fanboy and ChumChum, Breadwinners, and Pig Goat Banana Cricket and hopefully Nickelodeon doesn't screw this show over and switch it to Nicktoons, bcause if they do, I swear to god, I'm gonna lose it. Overall, It's Pony is definitely worth watching and I consider recommending it. I give It's Pony an 8.5/10

It will never actually be this bad.
jego-3052929 March 2021
I like how the animation is so creative. Unlike Annie, I would not have a pony as a pet if I were her in real life. If I ever did, he will destroy my kitchen. Annie's red hair is really gorgeous.

Great show

I really love this show. Ever since it first aired, I made sure to see every single episode. I think it's really funny, and I hope they keep it around for a long time. I'm an animation major in college and I think it's very enjoyable for any age. It's one of my favorites on TV right now.

Incredibly cute show that's worth checking out
chrdrenkmann14 June 2020
You don't need to be a crazy fan like me and love this show to death, but the current rating of 5,9/10 doesn't do it justice.

It's Pony is something different from current Nickelodeon standards. Instead of a loud and action-packed series, we have a silent and charming show with some nice laughs here and there. The friendship between Annie and Pony is believable and always brings a smile to my face. To be fair, there are toilet humor scenes which might not be for everyone, but they are extremely rare and don't ruin the overall experience.

If you haven't seen it yet, please give it a chance and form your own opinion. New shows need support to stay alive.
