A beautifully acted curio ...
parry_na5 August 2022
This is a dark, modern-day fairytale you know is lurching further into ridiculousness, but it's so stylish and well played, that you go along with it anyway.

In what is for the most part a two-hander, Alice Isaaz and Jacqueline Bisset as Julie and Elizabeth are extraordinary good, and the shifting story allows us to view the characters differently as they reveal more about themselves.

For those unable to take the situation seriously, the film does nothing to make events any more palatable. Even at the end, the audience is invited to make up their own minds about what they have just watched. My score is 7 out of 10.

Excellent

The two female leads Alice Izzas and Jacqueline Bisset are outstanding with a great chemistry between them. A film that keeps you guessing and is so atmospheric. The creepy situation keeps you watching & on the edge of your seat.

Perfect casting - the camera falls in love with Julie's intoxicating beauty in the same way Victor does.

Jacqueline Bisset is haunting and the film cleverly manipulates our feelings towards her.

Cinematography, music and sound design are all extremely impressive. Highly recommended.

Creepy fairytale?
icocleric8 September 2022
It really wasn't the film that I was expecting! You think it's going to be a usual haunted house set up. But it's not. This actually really does play in its favour because you really don't know what to expect. Like it has horror elements, but I'm not sure if that's the right label for it.

It's almost like a creepy fairytale? It's full of atmosphere and with the music really has a romantic feel going on. It's far from being cliché, and the characters are well thought out.

The acting is really excellent, from both the leads and they really play well together. I actually really enjoyed it, especially the mystery of what was going to happen, even though you know the house is haunted. But the feeling of the film keeps you guessing.
