They should've kept his new bar lady friend. She was interesting. The writers blew this one.

Could be better

It was nice to fill up some gaps
jrrbenfica-397687 February 2020
This episode was made to fill up some gaps relating Steve's date, Danny's ex wife, etc. It also gives Danny a little showtime since nowadays he isn't around that much, i also think this can develop an interesting subplot with Danny seeking justice.
Loved it!

I'm sorry I have never wrote a review for anything but I'm not sure what people here are talking about, This was an amazing episode I mean for a cop show without anything criminal happening was amazing! Plus just when I thought they couldn't make an even sadder episode they impress and show how much emotion they can capture by just giving a dog PTSD and man was it great. Listen Hawaii 5-0 is not the best show out there but I give credit where it is due and it certainly doesn't deserve such a bad rating (in this episode) because it was good. I loved Danny's story as well sure he made some bad judgment calls in first aid but it was great to see the emotion these two went through in just a matter of hours people are focusing too much on the little stuff, this is television people not a documentary about how to drive better. Anyway that's just my two cents.
Great episode

Warning: Spoilers
This episode was like tuning on a Disney movie expecting princesses and getting a gang violence documentary instead. The story about Eddie's PTS was touching and would have fit nicely as a side plot in a regular episode. But no, traumatized Eddie alternated w/Danny's flash in the pan love interest dying ever so slowly in the middle of nowhere.
I like Scott Caan. He's talented. I'm happy he got to flex his acting chops. But at the end of the week when I sit down for a mindless hour of action, crime fighting and some witty banter I expect action, crime fighting and some witty banter. Maybe a tug or two on the old heartstrings.
No action, no crime fighting and very little banter. Picture the last part of the English Patient w/a car for the cave and sand replaced by trees. An indulgent exercise with no directional plot value. I want my hour back.

Possible deeper plot line else utter nonsense

Warning: Spoilers
I am in the minority of enjoying this episode, I feel like the Danny plot line is and will be important. Is there a chance miss stranger lives? It would not be out of the question. Unlikely? yeah, but real talk a puncture wound bleed slowly who knows if it nicked or damaged a organ, she could have been critical due to blood loss and pass out with pulse so weak neck finger test is false positive.
Am I reaching? probably.... I just can't fathom this show dedicating a whole episode surrounding this plot.
Combine all of this with zero scenes of stranger getting emergency triage & Danny walking the trail of tears it makes a lot of sense. Cookie cutter technique in TV Hollywood to bait and switch mixed with deep emotional theme/history.

Wow this episode made me mad

They could not have filmed this and thought they did a good job. Watching Danny, who is supposed to be a master of crisis, sit with a dying victim and not find a better way to get help but run up and down a hill missing cars was ridiculous. Then when help arrives he finally decides to walk down the road but now just leaving an unidentified dead victim and his crashed car?!? Yeah that will go over well. Wow what a horrible episode!
3 stars for Eddie
jgtassie2 February 2020
This was simply ridiculous. After two years of building up the idea that Danny was going to reconcile with his ex-wife, the writers throw that out with "we decided we were better as friends" to justify this lame story. And this nameless woman is the new love of his life because he had sex with her in a bar bathroom? I only rated this 3 stars because I like Eddie.
Not great!!!

Warning: Spoilers
I don't get why they did this episode. I thought Eddie's problem was related to Joon's disappearance. No, to flowers. And the girl would have been a great love interest for Danny but she was killed instead. I think it's the first time my husband and I dislike a Hawaï 5-0 episode.
A bad filler episode
eric-113621 February 2020
There is absolutely nothing that contributes to the story line. I was livid that it shows someone that texts and drives, kills someone and then gets away with it? I thought Danny's friend would've made a great love interest for him but apparently the writers feel the need to keep love out if his character's life. A filler episode should be upbeat and keeping the viewers interested until the next episode, not hating the content. This was one of the lowest rated episodes for H5O and I hope the writers take note.
Senseless

Warning: Spoilers
All the build up to Danny and his ex and then we get the "better off as friends", sex with a stranger in a bathroom (ugh), and then the death of the stranger. For me, Danny is an irritant in the show, but he was an idiot in this one. Also, covered in blood, he walked past ALL the rescue units and continued alone along the road. PLEASE, don't insult the viewers like this.
Love this show - hate this episode

Are you kidding me with this episode!?!? After 10 years we have to meet a great girl for Danny and then immediately kill her off? What's the point?!? I never write reviews of episodes but this one was so terrible I couldn't help myself!!! Poor Danny is NEVER going to be happy!
A dumb show

Warning: Spoilers
I know that it is showing texting and driving is incredibly stupid ..but "Danny" did not wven act like an adult ,moreless a cop!!
You do not move a person bleeding OR take out the object.. it went on and on and on and ......i feel bad she died ...but he was a contributing factor
Was only worried about Eddie and PTS.
What a pointless awful episode
dwpatter531 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
What a pointless awful episode, only Danny Williams could needlessly drive off a road and end up killing his passenger.
Terrible first aid too, too little too late.
I think that a better plot would have been for Danny Williams to die in the accident. The character is just a pointless annoying foil, they could do better.

Worst episode. Horrible Director
rickpep4 February 2020
The woman who meets Danny is terrible. I would run from her. Annoying and controlling. The direction was horrible. Who wants to see so many close ups of the people. It was distracting and off-putting. If H50 keeps up like this, I will stop watching it. Content was crummy. I like to see more of Danny but this was just awful, painful and was glad when it was over.
What did I just watch?

The 10 star ratings have to be CBS employees.
2nd worst episode ever.
If Danny's logs interest lived it'd change my kind completely. The Eddie PTS is important but that's the premise for the whole episode? No cop stuff in the whole episode. The Marines did more investigating than 5-0. I'm not bitter. I buy this show on iTunes. But this was a big swing and a miss. Should have a company policy. When all writers call in sick, you don't ask the local tavern for replacements.
A little flat
