It shows what serious mistakes can easily be made
deickemeyer1 November 2015
A dramatic story, detailing the uncertainty of circumstantial evidence as shown in the case of Jean, who was convicted of murder because his revolver was the only one with an empty shell in a room where a man was murdered. Later, the real murderer, overcome with remorse, confesses and Jean's wife, after an arduous snow-shoe journey, arrives just in time to prevent the execution of the sentence. The real murderer was never found. He wandered away and was lost in the snow. The story is dramatic because it shows what serious mistakes can easily be made. Moreover, it tells the story clearly and graphically, holding the attention of the audience from beginning to the close. - The Moving Picture World, January 28, 1911
