It never gets easier to look up the horrors of what real life humans are willing to perpetrate but some of them are harder than others. Looking into the purported Scottish myth that inspired The Hills Have Eyes for example is a whole heck of a lot easier to do than find out the absolutely abysmal crimes that were committed against a young girl in The Girl Next Door. Fremantle has appointed new heads for its Italian labels The Apartment and Wildside and has agreed a co-production deal with their former CEOs Lorenzo Mieli and Mario Gianani.
Film and TV producer Annamaria Morelli becomes CEO of The Apartment while former Sky Italia exec Sonia Rovai has been named CEO of Wildside.

Charles Dierkop, the busy character actor who played tough guys in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Sting and the 1970s Angie Dickinson series Police Woman, has died. He was 87.
Dierkop died Sunday at Sherman Oaks Hospital after a recent heart attack and bout with pneumonia, his daughter, Lynn, told The Hollywood Reporter.
The Wisconsin native also appeared alongside Rod Steiger in Sidney Lumet’s The Pawnbroker (1964), played the mobster Salvanti in Roger Corman’s The St. Valentine’s Day Massacre (1967) and was a murderous Santa Claus in the cult horror movie Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984).
After portraying an uncredited pool-hall hood in the Paul Newman-starring The Hustler (1961), Dierkop got to work with Newman again in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969) when he was hired to play Hole in the Wall Gang outlaw George “Flat Nose” Curry.

Alex Cooper’s popular Call Her Daddy podcast is no longer exclusive to Spotify.
As of Jan. 30, the back catalog of the podcast is available on all audio platforms, with the first new episode released on all platforms Wednesday. Video will remain exclusive to Spotify.
Cooper’s podcast had been airing exclusively on Spotify since July 2021 and had been one of the most popular podcasts on the platform. In July 2021, Spotify signed a multiyear deal with Cooper, which gave it exclusive rights to future episodes of Call Her Daddy, as well as the back catalog of the podcast and future projects from Cooper.
The move to broaden distribution of the podcast comes as Spotify moves further away from the exclusive distribution model. The Joe Rogan Experience, which is consistently among the top charting podcasts on the platform, remains exclusive to Spotify.
