What Is This?
andrewashere-886-18766716 August 2018
I don't get what this show is supposed to be at all. Two guys with horrible spray on tans host a show where they are all of their own guests? It's super strange but I can't tell if it is awful or if it is some kind of smart meta comedy thing like Andy Kaufman.

self-conscious hokum
comedyisbad3 September 2008
yeah,

not a laugh to be found in 'Good Morning World'.

as another user said above, shows like this get made because Canadian content levels need to be reached by the networks, and the more cheaply that can be accomplished, the better. that way they can spend the big bucks on properly developed, well-written and well-acted US programs that boast a talented cast.

a product of the wheezing, backwards Canadian programming and production machine.

here's to a brighter future.

More filler for the Comedy Network
dasbub2 June 2008
Yet another ultra-low-cost turd whipped up as filler for the Comedy Network. They show this stuff just to satisfy CanCon (Canadian Content) regulations as cheaply as possible, while using real money to buy American shows. They've been doing it since Day 1.

It really is as bad as the previous commenter states. It's just these two guys (with the occasional guest) acting out a talk show skit. They seem to think that fake tans are the most hilarious gimmick ever conceived.

I guarantee this: should you choose to sit through 22 minutes of this garbage, you will not laugh once. It takes something truly awful to make the endless Just For Laughs reruns seem appealing.

May this show die quickly and join the rogues gallery with Popcultured, Rockpoint P.D., Chez Carla, Girls Will Be Girls, Buzz, The Jessica Holmes Show, The Itch, etc.

Pathetic Doesn't Begin to Describe "Good Morning World"
erinedwards670024 May 2008
"Good Morning World" is such a pathetic show I don't even know how to begin to write about how pathetic it is. The entire show is two guys who make their own morning show that looks like it's in their basement or something. Most of the jokes seem to be about how they are closet gays or maybe gay for each other or something but the jokes aren't funny. Also they have very red spray on tans that leave big white circles around their eyes and they wear almost the exact same suits. The show could be funny and they are performing an original idea in that there aren't other over-the-top-happy Morning Show parodies on the air but the bits just plain aren't funny and the way the show is cut together is just confusing nonsense. The two hosts sit at their desk making small talk then they look off to the side and go to a reporter or guest that is actually them. No other costumes or anything it is just supposed to be them cutting to them somewhere else, but it's never explained and the skits are painfully unfunny. I hope the show gets better, I only watched two episodes and like I said they were painfully bad but it could improve. I should say they also have other guests and it's not always just the two of them, for example the shows I saw had a lady with animals and an exercise expert.

Bad
joan635027 August 2010
This show is bad.

I have to write ten lines so what else could I say about this show other than simply that it is bad.........

Hmmm.........

It is really stupid how the actors have fake tans and then they say "take it away steve" and then they cut to the other guy and it is still the same guy. Is that supposed to be funny cuz it just looks like they can't afford another actor to play that character in the other scene so the same guy did it.

Ten lines yet??

This show isn't funny or entertaining at all in fact it is incredibly unfunny so how is it on a network NAMED comedy?

Bad show!

Another Comedy Network Loser
emailjohn50017 August 2008
Please someone for the love of all that is good fire everyone at the comedy network and replace them with people who actually have a basic understanding of what is funny.

I would list all the pathetic shows they have aired over the years--pretty much every single show they've made in their entire existence--but it would really take too long.

When did it become OK to make nothing but awful shows year after year? Does anyone know anyone who willingly watches this fish vomit? Why is it my cable package comes with like three channels I want but also the comedy network so I either have to choose between not being able to see my favorite cable channels or I get to see my favorite cable channels but it means I unwillingly have to--as part of the package--give a portion of that money to support this pathetic channel? Someone fire the entire decision making team at comedy network because everyone knows they have no idea what they're doing except apparently them.

Sense of Humor Required
Terry_Crocs24 August 2018
This show is fantastic, and something of a cult classic among the working comedians I've met. If you don't understand that two negatives make a positive, it might not be up your ally. It's a morning show parody, and it's executed perfectly. That's all you need to know. If you want more, check out CBC's "This is That".

Awful
worthwood29 July 2018
Just another one of the many, many awful shows churned out by The Comedy Network. Add it to the pile and burn it, no laughs and nothing interesting to see here just move along.

Your all dumb
hump_monkey4 May 2014
Your all big dummies for thinking this show isn't funny. Anyone who doesn't get this show is the type of person who is getting screamed at for forgetting to coil the microphone chords...COIL IT! Every review you've read come from 40+ women who think the Big Bang Theory is funny. It's a satirical look at a morning show, it's not cheap, it's a parody, that's why they have sexy squirrel eyes, spray tans and cut to interviews with themselves, you dumb dumbs. The opening segments where they inform the audience on what's in their coffee mugs is pure gold. The show fits the same type of humour as workaholics and Tim and Eric. So, anyone who enjoys real humor should give this show a chance and then come back here and beak these fools with me. If you don't like this show it's probably because your the kind of person who wasn't allowed to watch The Simpsons growing up.

Tragic
eatcrowepls4 August 2018
This show was tragically bad. Two guys play all the roles and they have really bad orange spray on tans as if that is the height of comedy or something. Not the worst Comedy Network show but this was pretty tragic.

The Greatest Fake Morning Show of All Time
andrewtesa25 May 2018
The first time I saw Good Morning World, I thought it was a TV show about a bad morning show, and it some point the show-within-a-show would end and the proper show would begin. But the episode ended without the hosts breaking out of their goofy characters. I could not believe what I had seen, because it was exactly the type of humour I enjoy.

Show creators Peter Oldring and Pat Kelly, the creative minds behind CBC's This Is That, have gotten a reputation for fooling people with their spoof news reports, and this show is more of that. it seems like a lot of the reviews here are from people who don't get that the show is satire and not meant to be taken seriously.

Oldring and Kelly play hosts Andy Peppers and Alister Coulter, parodies of the typical smiling, glad-handing morning television host, who manage to talk for a half hour without really saying anything at all. They give hilariously misinformed or misguided advice, do-it-yourself tutorials and fitness tips with all of the sincerity, banter and fluff one finds on a real morning show. All of the dialogue is improvised, and the reaction shots as they come back from each segment are priceless.

If you enjoy the type of humour found in shows like Check It Out! With Steve Brule, you'll love Good Morning World, but it's awfully hard to find more than just a few clips online these days. Kelly and Oldring have teased that the show may return in some form (they once revealed they still own the domain goodmorningworld.com), but until then I'm leaving this review and hoping it finds its way onto DVD or something.
