Although this is the second Karaoke Revolution video game series to have an American Idol feature, this is the first Karaoke Revolution video game series to feature an online competition mode where the players can compete against each other for a high score in singing.
This is the first Karaoke Revolution video game series where Paula Abdul makes an appearance and provided the voice of herself as one of the judges alongside Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell. She was not featured in Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol (2007), but in the archive footage of American Idol, Paula Abdul is still present with Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell.
All of the downloadable songs for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions were originally from the previous Karaoke Revolution video game series.
This is the last Karaoke Revolution (2003) video game series to be released on the PlayStation 2. All future sequels and installments of the series will continue on with the 256-bit next-generation systems and later.
