Barnholtz Entertainment was nice enough to send along a screener copy of Drifter: Henry Lee Lucas - the latest direct to dvd serial killer epic from writer/director Michael Feifer. Feifer has been a busy man in the last few years, cranking out a string of grisly straight to dvd serial killer bio-pics including Chicago Massacre: Richard Speck, Ed Gein: Butcher Of Plainfield, Boston Strangler: The Untold Story, B.T.K., and Ted Bundy: Legacy Of Evil. You can check out my review of Ted Bundy: Legacy Of Evil here.

I've got a wacky idea. Indie horror filmmakers Ulli Lommel and Michael Feifer should have a fight, and only the winner is allowed to make any more movies based on the exploits of real-life serial killers. I'd be cheering for Feifer, if only because he at least attempts to make actual movies.
Michael Feifer has been quite the busy beaver of late with two serial killer thrillers debuting on DVD: last month's B.T.K. (review), which Heather found surprisingly effective, and next month's Bundy: A Legacy of Evil (review), which I found to be quite pointless. Feifer has yet another coming to DVD in the form of Drifter: Henry Lee Lucas starring Antonio Sabato, Jr. as the notorious serial killer responsible for 350 murders during his rampage from 1975 to 1983.
Antonio Sabato, Jr. as Henry Lee Lucas? Say what? I know what Henry Lee Lucas looked like. You can slap some scruffy facial hair on Antonio Sabato,...

Fans of the Friday The 13th series know Kane Hodder as the four-time Jason Voorhees from Friday The 13th Part VII: The New Blood, Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan, Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday, and Jason X.
Hodder is a Fango favorite that has appeared at many Weekend of Horrors' over the years, promoting appearances in Hatchet, 2001 Maniacs, and most recently B.T.K.
Hodder stopped by the Fangoria Entertainment booth in New York this afternoon to chat with Marla Newborn and Rebekah McKendry, and we've got the video below.

Wrong Turn 3 director Declan O’Brien will be previewing his new Fox DVD splatter sequel at the fast-approaching East Coast edition of Fangoria’s Weekend of Horrors, to be held June 5-7 at the Jacob K. If you're at all familiar with the slasher horror classics of the 80s and 90s, then the name Kane Hodder should be quite familiar. For those who don't dabble in horror all that much, if you've seen Friday the 13th: Parts 7, 8, 9 or X, then you know Kane Hodder—although you might not recognize him. Kane is the man behind the iconic mask. Every lumbering step, every machete slice, Hodder brought Jason Voorhees's reanimated corpse new life.
You may also know him from his work as Victor Crowley in Adam Green's slasher hit Hatchet. To coincide with my review of the his latest film, B.T.K., here's an exclusive interview with... Kane Hodder. Mr. Hodder talks to us about B.T.K., working in and out of makeup and how he got into acting.

A little while ago I did an interview with Kane Hodder; in it we discussed a good portion of his out-of-costume acting work: stuff where he doesn’t have a mask on, and such. I brought up his quite good performance in director Michael Feifer’s previous serial killer biopic, Ed Gein: The Butcher of Plainfield. I told him I was looking forward to his and Feifer’s newest collaboration, and a little while later B.T.K. showed up in my mailbox.
You’ve probably noticed the scores I’ve given the film by now. Keep in mind that Hodder’s still the man. His performance as Dennis Rader, the notorious killer on whom the film is based, really elevates the production a great deal, not just in the masterful physicality he exhibits, but in his truly inspired delivery. A lot of the dialogue in B.T.K. is fairly expositional, often telling...

Sometimes I wonder if Kane Hodder doesn't take that "Kill" lip tattoo a little too seriously. Hopefully he won't get "Bind" and "Torture" tattooed in his nostrils in honor of the May release of his latest direct-to-dvd offering, B.T.K.
B.T.K. sees Hodder cast as Dennis Rader, aka "The B.T.K. Killer." The real-life serial killer earned his nickname from the cops based on his modus operandi: bind, torture, and then kill his victims. Making Rader's tale all the more incredible was that the seemingly mild-mannered middle-aged compliance officer was a leader in his church even as he preyed on innocent people for his power-tripping killing spree.
The writer-director of B.T.K. is Michael Feifer, a filmmaker who seems to love casting actors best known for playing movie maniacs, such as last year's Dracula's Guest (review here), which featured Andrew "Leatherface" Bryniarski as Count Dracula. He's also no stranger to making...
