Capable and proud.
"The Life and Times of Rosie the Riveter" is a documentary from the first season of "The American Experience". It consists mostly of women talking about their experiences and difficulties working for the defense industry during WWII. Much of it is about the little things they went through...difficulties with child care, earning the respect of their peers, unionizing and more.
This would be a great documentary to show young people, as it gives an interesting insight into women at war as well as early feminism. I really enjoyed the older women talking as their stories were often funny and occasionally touching. Overall, a very interesting and well made film...mostly because it just let these women talk instead of talking about them and their exploits.
