- When 40-something Jen lands a date with her teacher crush, she mistakes her online stalking for intimacy, and turns their dinner into an addict's confession. A funny, whip-smart and relatable spin on rom-coms, created by and for women.
- Shattered by an imploding marriage, Jen is a 40-something woman living on the edge, anxious to find love again. But she's one drink away from losing what she's gained, she's about to meet her teacher crush in a bar, and she can't stop talking about what she's lost.—Lisa L. Kirchner
- Jen is running late for dinner but answers her mother's call anyway. Mom isn't thrilled about this date, suggesting he'd be a better professional contact than boyfriend, but Jen suspects her mother judges her for divorcing. Soon enough, however, it's clear that Jen is the one still pained by her ex. And when she confirms that Steve is, like her, in addiction recovery, she can't wait to get honest about her past. She finds herself talking nonstop about her misdeeds while Steve fidgets. She remains oblivious as the night grinds on, until the waiter shows up with the appetizers and Steve asks for the meals to come immediately. That's when Jen realizes what she's done. Smiling, she stumbles away to the bathroom to get in touch with her sponsor, but surprisingly, her mentor isn't interested in what Jen has done wrong this time. In fact, she has an altogether different take on things. Jen is confused. She knows she wants to sleep with Steve, but she also knows her sponsor has better judgment when it comes to relationships. Realizing she's been away from the table for far too long, Jen rushes back to the table, resigned to finish the evening without even a shred of dignity. But the table is empty when she returns. She assumes Steve has left, and begins to consider her options. She scrambles in her wallet, but she's still broke. The bar looks inviting, but there aren't any men around except the bartender. Is it time to "dine and dash"? Before she can make a break for it, Steve returns. He was just in the bathroom. Even better, he makes it clear that he is still into her. She decides to take matters into her own hands and come on strong, so they make a hasty exit from the restaurant. Maybe sobriety won't be so bad after all. Out on the street, however, things start to look different to her when Steve takes a squeeze out of her butt. She's no prude, but then, how can she sleep with someone who knows her so little that he'd manhandle her like that on the sidewalk. She considers her options. She's still broke. She's still hungry. She goes back into the restaurant, and get the meals, then head off into the night on her bicycle.
